Title review is quoted from the movie: the script is fun, I laughed a lot watching this movie and NOT because of "So bad, so good". The movie is as absurd as "Land of the Lost" but it was much cheaper to produce. Just like a couple of "Twilight Zone" episodes. It will not win best effect or best acting Academy Award, but it deserves a watch. Another crazy quote is "How much water do we need? 50 gallons."I mean: it's about 190 liters, into a device smaller than a suitcase!Very funny are the "calculations" that the scientist O'Hara does with her assistant Murphy to understand what went wrong. One of the female character, the scientific adviser of the president, says: "Looks like a building. Only intelligent life could build something like that." And she goes there to contact the aliens :)The movie never takes itself seriously, that's why I gave a pretty fine score.Edit: Feb 2018 One of the few few movies with a black/white sexual relationship with "French kissing". IMO it increases sci fi atmosphere because I never saw it in an US movie! They are Irish, indeed :)5/10

More nonsense from the SyFy Channel. This one sees a diverse group of characters randomly transported to an alien planet, where they must contend with an aggressive alien monster who seems intent on having them for lunch. What it all boils down to is a bunch of characters running around in a forest and being menaced and eaten by a dinosaur-like beast.FEROCIOUS PLANET has absolutely nothing that makes it stand out from the crowd. The actors are undistinguished (the only familiar face is John Rhys-Davies, who is bumped off early on), the characterisation is nil and the script just isn't true to life. The CGI effects are unsurprisingly bad, and the action isn't exciting. Throwing in a handful of mildly gory death scenes just doesn't do anything to make it better.Although the film strives to be an exciting story of adventure and survival, it never is. It lacks the B-movie spirit of something like AZTEC REX, where the narrative becomes a romp and the viewer enjoys themself regardless; the only thing you'll be enjoying here are the closing credits.

Because if anything I had a rather lukewarm reception to Ferocious Planet. It is nowhere near SyFy's worst, but I've also seen better. The photography and editing is thankfully not as choppy as it can be with SyFy movies, the scenery is good and is suitably nightmarish, as is the concept and the acting is above average, though while it was a pleasure to see John Rhys Davies again he's only on screen for about 15 minutes which I think is wrong for an actor of his calibre. Where Ferocious Planet is let down is in the artificial design of the creatures(though the effects have been much worse before and since), the often cheesy writing(some bits are hilarious like "Don't poke the alien" though) and the formulaic and lacking-in-energy story with the accident in experiment idea rather lazy in how it's explored. As well as those we have the sort of characters that are vaguely developed and made to do stupid things, killings that are undermined by lack of tension, numerous and off-putting continuity errors with the most irritating being with the person who gets a metal rod stuck in his shoulder and the cop-out of an ending, which felt rushed and unsatisfactorily explained. All in all, not bad but not particularly good either. 4/10 Bethany Cox

Wow. More like "Don't ..Watch... This Crap!" What a complete piece of trash. Where do I begin? What was so annoying than anything else was the so-called music score. It just ruined it for me with that crappy happy go-lucky theme to it. It was not suspenseful at all. It sounded like it barely belonged in a cartoon not a Sci-fi Thriller.I barely gave it a 2 star rating only because I recognized John Rhyes-Davies (Sallah from Raiders of the Lost Ark & Prof. Arturo from Sliders) I could believe how much weight he had lost. He didn't even last 15mins in this turkey. I'm thinking he realized what a crap he was in and demanded to be killed off as soon as possible! ha ha The only other person I recognized was Joe Flanigan(Stargate:Atlantis 's John Sheppard). He was OK I guess considering the type of movie this was and the role he was playing. And as far as I'm concerned, everyone else I couldn't wait for the half dinosaur/alien to kill them all and have this fiasco of a film be done and over with. The CGI was not that great either and this alien dimension is apparently populated by only one type of carnivorous animal?. Where are the other animals which would be required as prey?? Gimme a break! And apparently if you get hurt, you heal like magic in this dimension!? Like that annoying idiot that got hurt really bad with a whole pipe that went right thru his right chest/shoulder area and the soldier just pulls it out and 5 minutes later , he's walking and moving like nothing happen!? Like he just got a scratch! Come on! ScyFy, I want my 84mins back! Ha-ha
