I liked this movie a lot. The plot had lots of interesting twists and turns and kept me guessing. The pacing was good and I wasn't bored at any point. However, I thought the ending was a little too happy to be credible, especially the part about Sheriff's death sentence being commuted (granted I don't know anything about Egyptian law, so I don't really know what "believable" means in this context). Also, LOL at DMT in pill form (and the trip sequence didn't seem very DMT-like). But these are minor quibbles, I heartily recommend this to anyone who likes a good story.

It's an average film with many special effects to hide the mediocrity of the story. I'm assuming the film makers thought that if they added glossy CGI effects no one would notice that the screenplay really isn't all that great. The film is too long and it becomes tiring. This should have been a 90 minute film at tops. There are other films with similar ideas that are much better made.I'd skip it.

I can't even begin. some points i want to talk about.. 1. a bunch of sound and visual effects doesn't make a film good. 2. the slow motion is not a f****** toy. 3. three hours is to much.. any unprofessional f****** editor can make this movie one hour tops. 4. the big budget is not a reason to appreciate a movie, many indie movies that doesn't cost s*** is better than a box office hit. 5. i will not complain about the actors despite they have a lot of problems specially Khaled Elsawy. 6. the research effort that the writer did is not everything you have to make even more effort to come up with a good and exciting story after you gather information otherwise what is the f****** point. 7. Egyptian cinema doesn't need this sh*** movie to prove it's good. we have some good directors like Ahmed Abdallah from our generation and Daoud Abdel Sayed, Mohamed Khan and they still make a very good movies. finally i didn't read the "novel" -and am not planning too- but i guess it's as f****** overrated and boring as the movie. sorry for cursing to much but this movie did ruin a perfectly good gathering of friends.. :\

This type of genre is nothing new In American movies but In the Egyptian cinema it's quite a surprise. The beginning of the film Is something seen in many films about someone accused of murder and being checked by a psychiatrist. The ironic thing is that the doctor whose job is to treat the mentally insane is messed up just as much as his patients. and even though this doctor seems to destroy everything he touches, you still feel that there is hope left In him. What happens after that is very hard to explain, it can only be seen . and that's what's special about this film,it's visually entertaining . The story ending might be strange and you might have many questions unanswered. but good films usually leave you wondering like that. Very good cast and amazing direction. And as was said in the film there's a fine line between what's real and what's not and what makes you want to cross that line Is curiosity. Egyptian cinema Is back to life with this film.
