Parallels are drawn between Abraham Lincoln's presidency and the presidency of Donald Trump. Not since 1860 have the Democrats so fanatically refused to accept the result of a free election. You will find reviews on here at length trying to tear this movie down but they ignore one thing: the truth. D'Souza backs up every claim in this movie with facts on the website for the movie. Those giving this film 1 star reviews are the same folks trying to defend Planned Parenthood's harvesting of babies and tearing them apart limb by limb for profit. You have a choice: see the movie and judge for yourself or continue in your ignorance believing what you are told to by those who want to rewrite history to fit their propaganda.

Now that I got that out of the way do not believe nearly every review on here which clearly have been written by people who did not see this movie. The critic reviews are horrible as well but not surprised given that people in the business are largely liberal, Trump haters. On to the review...=) It was interesting but poorly put together. The opening scene is of Hitler and Eva Braun killing themselves at the end of the war. Did not have to be in the movie. The ending scene shows scenes of American scenery and then of a gospel group singing which also did not have to be in the movie. The movie should have listed sources actually within the movie even if it's just listing it briefly (or share the source verbally). I say this because D'Souza has gotten into trouble before by using inaccurate information. In fairness during the ending credits, they do give a link to look up sources used. The movie is a mix of rants from D'Souza, interviews from some interesting people, and interviews from the occasional racist idiot like Richard Spencer. They do this with a mix of reenactments from Nazi Germany, the political climate of Venezuela, and fascist Italy. Real footage of present day scenes are shown as well (my favorite is of Miley Cyrus crying, and of rude anchors laughing at Ann Coulter as she says Trump will be the president). There just was a lot of back and forth, and I did think the comparison with Trump and Lincoln was silly. That being said, I did learn things that I did research that are true such as: Nazis based "Who is a Jew?" off of America's one drop rule for blacks and even the one drop rule was considered to racist for Nazis -Many Nazi views are the same as liberal reviews including health care, no freedom speech (freedom of speech includes hearing and seeing what you don't like!!!), and limiting land and business ownership -Nazis typically did not murder their own Nazis for being gay however, should they want to have them murdered, they would publicly announce that it was due to being gay (basically leverage) -Liberals (including the Clintons) attended the funeral of a well know klansman -Myth that the 2 political parties "switched" sides -The US considered Mussolini in the beginning as progressive Probably not true-They had a scene showing Ernst Rohm found by Nazis in bed with what looked like a teenage boy, and a 3rd teenage boy hiding under the bed. I cannot find anything showing this to have actually happened. I know he was gay, but that probably didn't happen (it was a bit comical though). There was also a scene where he states that cities that have primarily Democrats have people living in poverty and on the streets. What about the Republicans living in rural cities and in the South? In any case, I'm glad I saw it and might read one of his books but it just wasn't good.

This movie is advocating freedom. Those who oppose the movie are trapped in a one sided world where they will cry and whine if there isn't a huge movie corporation plaguing our youth with leftist propaganda. Dinesh created a movie that has balanced the entertainment industry with a red-pilled view that will open your eyes and see the truth! #theawakening

Finally a movie that every liberal and conservative American needs to see to understand where this country has been and where we want to go in the future. Great explanation of what a NAZI was and is now, what a progressive agenda really means and who is funding ANTIFA, the anti-Fascism group that uses violence to disrupt peaceful groups. Every Journalist needs to watch, but they won't because they couldn't report the way they do if they truly understood the terms they use every day. Of course, it would be great if just teachers saw this movie, but so many are afraid of facts and don't want to debate what they don't understand. If you are a liberal, I dare you to watch, what are you afraid of?
