WOW. I love how film makers think its okay to use a film title to hook horror lovers in, only to realise the film was a complete and utter waste of time.FIRSTLY: can they please PLEASE stop trying to remake Hellraiser, no ONE can recreate the original pinhead, those films are a classic!.SECONDLY: this film was weird and original i will give it that, how ever WTF, it wasn't even centred around pinhead, he was just in some scenes in a super weird way., It was just so so disappointing, they just need to stop. For the love of horror, just stop.
The Hellraiser series nosedived with the previous entry, Revelations. Honestly, no one can tell me there is any value to that film, outside of some good gore gags and makeup. So, the fans lost all confidence when a new entry, Judgment, was put into production. But Gary Tunnicliffe, a Hellraiser series mainstay, promised us something good and made with care.Well, Judgment suffers from one thing: a tiny budget. And what I imagine was a rushed filming schedule. Which is too bad because Judgment is a big improvement and a unique entry into the Hellraiser series. Lots of gore, surreal imagery, and yes, Pinhead does his thing. Paul Taylor is a solid Pinhead- no Doug Bradley, but who is? Is Mr. Taylor is in for the long haul, then so am I. The plot is basically a take on Se7en set in Oklahoma City. Nothing mindblowing mind you, and there is a twist which I will not reveal. But fro a technical standpoint Judgment is well made. Good effects, acting from all involved, and the plot is interesting. There is one bad performance, from the girl who plays what I think was an angel. You'll see what I mean.Still, Hellraiser fans, don't despair. It's really not all that bad.
This film got alot of hate from reviewers, but if you like the franchise i believe this is one of the better ones of the bunch. If you ignore some of the plot holes and continuity of the film it is entertaining. I think this is probably the most disgusting of all of them though lol. Some scenes will make you gag. The new character the Auditor is a great character i think. I hope if they do more films we see him again. Definitely worth a watch
What went wrong? Seriously, one of the most famous cult horror franchises of all time has died but nobody had the courtesy to tell it. Now year after year it's still here, it's lifeless corpse stinking out the joint.Has there been a passable Hellraiser movie since Hellraiser: Bloodlines (1996)? I honestly don't think so.They went from merciless memorable fascinating horror titles to failed attempts at psychological horror movies with plots that made less sense than Justin Biebers career success. Now we don't even have the iconic Doug Bradley as Pinhead anymore, it truly is time to give this franchise the last rites and let it drift away into nothing but fond memories before it becomes the Witchcraft series. The plot is yet again indescribable, the Hellraiser novelty is nothing but a memory and Pinhead is a shadow of his former self. With a finale that teases another inevitable movie I'm saddened that it has come to this. Give Pinhead the peace he deserves. The Good:Dog scene was very inventiveThe Bad:No Doug BradleyPlot goes off the rails, does a 360 spin then lands on 3 kidsThings I Learnt From This Movie:When an actor becomes as iconic as the character he plays you simply can't recast
