I watched this film, because as a lover of spoof films, it became a must see. Having sat through all of it, and there were times I just felt like turning the channel over, it is one of the worst spoof films ever. The fact there is a sequel, must mean someone has too much money to spare, they would be better giving it to a charity and apologising for the first one. It is an absolutely awful film, trying to find anything positive to say about it is hard in itself. Kate Soulsby is pretty and that's about it. As far as the rest of the cast goes, it looks like a student production where they have been given a hundred quid and told to get on with it. If the crude language used throughout the film is supposed to shock it fails miserably, as to shock is to take by surprise, this does the exact opposite and after five minutes of listening the vulgarities become unnoticed. The humour is of the standard of a b grade 'Carry On 'movie. As a supposed spoof of the Zombie genre of film it fails on all counts, there is little plot and poor acting. But where it fails most of all it isn't funny. Put on 'Dracula dead and loving it' and get your life back on track.
When a burlesque troupe arrives at the home of a TV presenter to give a new interview, they discover his secret cult-like convent of women have been turned into flesh-hungry zombies and must try to get away before they get on each other's nerves. An incredibly entertaining and enjoyable British zombie comedy, mostly because it's just so demented and hilarious it overcomes it's minor limitations. The comedy here is the main focus, as the rapid-fire one-liner and smack-downs they all engage in at the drop of the hat make for some gut-busting moments, especially at the compound where they manage to effectively gauge the line between hilarious and obnoxious, perhaps the film's only true flaw. Either way, it's still pretty funny to watch them interact with each other, even in spite of the lower amount of scares, but that's made up for by the film's near constant stream of nudity and over-the-top gore, which is more than enough to make for some entertaining times, particularly in the later half when the zombies are loose and the near-constant interactions with them provide this one with plenty of scenes to fight them off for their own safety. Overall, this one was immensely enjoyable.Rated R: Full Nudity, Extreme Graphic Language, Graphic Violence, sex scenes and drug use.
This is an attempt to make Viz style humour..outrageous, dealing with taboo subjects, pushing the boundaries of good taste, overdosing on profanity. While it does all those things, it fails to remember to be funny, scary or interesting. There are no jokes to speak of and no plot. These things wouldn't matter if it had decent actors but it doesn't. No-one involved in this has ever done anything mainstream and probably never will. Even at the most base level of possible appeal ie as an attempt to titillate it fails because while there is a good deal of nudity it is all of unattractive people. Avoid this as if your life depends on it.
This is quite possibly the worse film I have ever had the misfortune to see - and I've seen Hope Floats with Sandra Bullock. The acting is truly terrible, the script is weak, the direction amateurish and the "comedy" just plain bad. In all respects, it is a typical weak "British Zombie Comedy Horror" that has no saving grace. To make matters worse, it is chock full of pointless nudity, which was probably only inserted because it was the only way they could get that much needed 18 certificate. Whoever financed this movie should not only ask for their money back but also fine all those involved. They say a little talent can go a long way but the makers of this film have tried to stretch no talent even further.Avoid at all costs.
