Formulaic plot: In olden times, boy loves girl, boy becomes vampire, boy loses girl, then finds her centuries later. She's now in love with someone else and... take it from there. This premise still makes sense, but when applied to the story that follows, it crumbles rapidly. The heroine is so vapidly naive, it's laughable. No one, even someone supposedly raised in a convent school as the heroine was, could be THAT unaware. There are nude sex scenes--lesbian, menage a quartre, orgy--making this soft-soft core but that's about all it has going for it.There's little of the usual blood and gore of a vampire film--the vampires chews, rather than merely bites--and not much of anything else except the titillation of the nudity. Other than that it seems to have had a heavy dose of apathy.A disappointment and a waste of talent and viewer time...but it did make me nod off so I saved on sedatives.
Um... Did anyone else find Martin Kemp's performance as a vampire weak and scary in a bad way?? I'm not talking about jumping out of my seat with horror scary either. I wanted to laugh actually and I'm pretty sure some others did too. I'm so used to seeing Martin Kemp playing Steve in Eastenders that I practically fell off my chair with laughter when I saw that he was 'Vampified'.Also, does anyone know where I can get a song from the film from? I liked a song called 'One Desire' by Claudia Kaleem and I can't seem to find it. Not to mention that she seems non-existent! Her voice is quite beautiful and the lyrics grabbed my attention from the first moment I heard them. i am quite anxious to find the song, even if I have to buy the soundtrack to the film or even the film itself! Please help me! I am not putting the film down or anything because if you look really hard at the actual film, you can see a quite romantic storyline but it needs quite a bit of work.
In the beginning of this film, I had great thoughts of a very wild and way out Dracula film, but as the film progressed, I noticed that the Vampire and the sexy virgin gal were just plain teasing each other to death. The boy friend of the virgin gal is always having to fight off the vamp and sometimes I wonder if this vamp is a misfit or just from a younger generation of vamps just starting out. In most films at least the Vampire gives a darn good sexy bite out of his victims neck and if he succeeds a third time, he has a permanent girl friend without any marriage. I really think the vampire was teased so very much by the virgin, he had to take a Cold Shower and simply calm himself down and get on with other NECKS !
Whoo wee. What a stinkbomb of a film. As the gentle reader has no doubt gathered from other reviews, this is a dirt-cheap movie with a single virtue: Alissa Milano getting buck nekkid and making out with everybody in sight. The plot: titular vampire must "do the wild thing" with Alissa, or die in three days. She is his reincarnated love from before he was a vampire. For some reason, he is going to rest in peace unless he can get jiggy with her pronto. There are rules: she must be willing. There is also a catch: Alissa is an ultra-prudish virgin college student who is in love with her boyfriend. So, this sleazy vampire dude sets out to convince both Alissa and her boyfriend that they need to break up and start hooking up with random people. He casts some kind of spell on Alissa that makes her libido go ape (kind of like the alien cockroach in _The Outer Limits_ episode "Caught in the Act" made a virgin Alissa Milano become a cosmic nymphomaniac -- I wonder if that is where the script writer got the idea). So, the film is Alissa getting naked, acting sexy, making out with boys and girls, interspersed with this "playa" vampire trying to seduce her and her boyfriend. Once in a while the vampire kills somebody, for no readily apparent reason. Well, its a vampire movie. Even though the vampire is out for tail instead of out for blood in this film, I guess people have to die. This movie is good "MSFT2K" material. Rent it and laugh at it. I know, there are a lot of very bad horror movies one can use for that purpose... but hey, how many feature Alissa Milano stripping buck nekked?
