I'm sorry but if a person, in this case Jake, is suffering from symptoms that fit Lyme disease and accept the possibility that this is the case but then opts to get treated with Homeopathy rather than with known western medicine treatment that actually cures Lyme, then it is difficult to take their cases seriously. somehow the credit that the directors are giving to some of these people seems exaggerated, i think facts needs to be checked a little deeper before bringing up these questions on such a big stage.

The film is somewhat reminiscent of the Chronicle. It starts as what might look as a found footage film with virtually no budget, but then introduces effects that may come as a surprise. One never knows what to expect with found footage, it's like a box of chocolates. Sometimes it is abysmally bad, and sometimes it ends up quite enjoyable. This film was interesting enough to make want to watch it until the end. However, it does have certain drawbacks. The acting and the dialogue are not very good. They are not bad, but they are not entirely convincing either. Also, the whole idea of found footage is to make people pretend for a while that they are watching genuine events. But the actions of the characters and the development of the story shatter that illusion. It becomes way too neat and in line with Hollywood conventions that it breaks that illusion of reality. I did not enjoy the ending at all, I thought it was cliché and also an anticlimax. Another thing: the film makes you wonder why the characters keep filming, even at times when no one in their right mind would even remember to keep a camera pointed at anything. This is a major weakness of found footage, and this film suffers from it as well. There is also a plot hole regarding the supposed inability of the protagonist to die. Is it not established that the sun will kill him? It certainly is suggested that it will. One final remark: why is there a buildup about the trip, when the action is in no meaningful way connected with being abroad? All this could have happened without the trip, so why is the plot built around the trip? It could have exploited being abroad in many ways, but fails to do so. Still, a fairly entertaining film. Found footage is not meant to be particularly meaningful. It is basically urban myths brought to life, and this is a good example thereof. I'd give it eight stars on the found footage scale. On general movie scale I give it four stars.

I'm not a huge found footage or first person footage fan. I am a HUGE vampire fan (keep your judgments to yourself please 😊).This is the best vampire movie I've seen since "Let the Right One In". I never found myself wondering when it was going to be over, I just kept hoping it wouldn't end. It's a fun (fun in a dark way) depiction of what it would be like figuring out what is happening to you & then coming to grips with being turned into a vampire. The camera isn't too shaky, which is one of the things I don't like about first person footage films. There was a good combination of action, humor & suspense. There's plenty of blood, as in most vampire flicks, but it's not overly bloody or gory so if that's what you're looking for you may be a little disappointed. Good vampire flicks don't come around often, but I would def add this movie to the list. If you're a true vampire fan, you won't be disappointed.
