The movie had potential but was poorly executed. Started out interestingly enough. But quickly became boring and I lost interest. More attention should have been paid to the actual experiment. I was completely lost when Patrick was explaining how they were going to get rid of the ghost. Like, what? Don't get me wrong it had some thrilling moments but I would hardly classify this as a "Horror" If I could take back the last 2 hours of my life I would. The only redeeming quality is the cast... But barely. Dont waste your time. If you want horror might I suggest: The House of The Devil, The Thing, The Omen and basically any other horror movie that isn't this.
I just watched this movie on DVD. Admittedly, I was about to turn it off before the film actually began due to the sheer volume of disk spam. That is, there were so many previews that my patience had grown quite thin even fast forwarding through them. Then there was the plug for Ultra Violet, the studio plugging themselves, and so on. THEN, after the anti-pirating warning which, of course, doesn't allow fast forwarding. Ah, movie time..My expectations were already quite low, although this was based on the previews shown in the half hour (or so it seemed) before getting to the feature. They were all so bad that one was left with little hope for the main attraction. My low expectations were spot on.I could go on at length about what is bad in this movie, but it would be too hard to resist simply saying "everything". Instead, I will touch on the good points. (1) The lighting was, overall, pretty good and (2) the image was quite clear and sharp; Good camera work. I gave it one star for each, thus 2 out of 10.Nothing in the film seemed believable. From beginning to end, this movie is a waste. The worst part? That time is lost forever, and it could have been better spent doing something more entertaining - like cutting my toenails.
Not a great movie if you are watching it expecting to get scared. This has really no horror factor. The beginning starts out interesting and then it gets hokey. I mainly watched it due to Sebastian Stan being in it and I like watching him, but man, he could have done a better film. That's okay, he's shirtless enough so it makes up for it.Ashley Greene, sorry Twilight fans, is not a great actress. Shes very pretty so I figure that's why shes in this movie. They are an attractive couple and it's a good thing they are, if they weren't, I'm afraid I would have turned it off way before I finished. I like the premise of the movie, interesting concept, but the special effects could have been much better. IMDb is making me write at least 10 lines so now I am just filling up space because honestly, I can't say anything else about this movie.
What a diabolical waste of time. I should've known better really, I didn't like Tom Felton in any of the Potter films, and his "acting" once again failed to engage me. Same with Ashley Green, I don't understand how she gets work, she's terrible. She spent most of this film walking around like she was high, with a dopey expression. Even when her boyfriend was being harmed, she was like, "meh". I love a good ghost story, and apart from one or two slightly creepy moments, there was nothing at all scary about it. I'd even started browsing the net on my phone it was so boring. I understand the need for suspense but it can often take too long to build up, and all these two seemed to do was wander around their house in ultra slow motion. I really didn't care what happened to any of them.
