I really liked that movie. I know that it is this kind of movies that are easy to see and very predictable commercial format. However, the expertise in the Top Gun case lies in how well it flows and in the classic character it has acquired over the years. The soundtrack is simple but memorable. The performance of Tom Cruise is impressive. The guy is a manual on how to be cool. I dare say that the aerial scenes are the best that cinema has given us. They make you feel all the tension and adrenaline of combat. I put an 8 because a 10 I reserve for Platoon, Forrest Gump, Cinema Paradiso or Full Metal Jacket.

Tom Cruz failed miserably in what could of been a decent film but instead turned into an absolute piece of garbage.

This is the movie that secured Tom Cruise's status as a superstar because he became really popular after it. It is indeed a great movie and Tom Cruise is beautiful and badass and has beautiful acting. This movie has some emotional moments as well. Also, I think it is better to watch this movie in English language with subtitles rather than dubbed. It's cool that all this flying was real and they really filmed it inside the jets. Tom Cruise reminded me a lot of my brother in this movie. This movie will also teach you that teamwork is important, also arrogance might be cool but should be forgotten when it's time to be responsible, because we're all together at the end of the day. Also makes me think that competition on other hand is really useful because it motivates you to spend more time doing something to become better. Love Tom Cruise's uniform. This movie is mostly positive, but does have some sad moments as well.

Man, this movie is painfully cheesy and lame. Over the top macho machismo mixed with godawful corny romance. The worst of both worlds! I'm all for cheesy 80's movies. I love Roadhouse for it's over the top ridiculousness, but Top Gun is just painful to watch at times. This movie is clearly aimed at immature teenagers of the 80's. Since I was an immature teenager of the 90's, I can't really relate to this movie. I'm sure people that were 80's teens probably have a nostalgic tie to this movie, much like I have to some 90's movies. However, judging this purely as a film, I'd have to say Top Gun is not something I would recommend to anyone looking for a quality movie to watch. There were a couple moments of unintentional humor that made me laugh out loud and the aerial action scenes are very well done, so I'll give the movie a few points for that.4/10************SPOILERS************By the way, is it just me or is his lady friend kind of an a-hole? His best friend just died and she's grilling him for being a quitter! Jeez, maybe give him some time to figure his sh*t out, seriously!Recommended for those that enjoy the DANGER ZONE!, hot shot renegade pilots who live by their own rules, by-the-book authority figures, super cool-guy nicknames, cheesy 80's soundtracks, gender neutral bathrooms, sweaty shirtless man sports, spinning horizons, macho staring contests, spontaneously breaking out into song, slow-mo erotic mouth licking, intense bro-hugs......but that's just like, my opinion, man# Of Times Watched: Once
