Pay no attention to the negative reviews about the acting being terribe and other negativity by people who need their horror movies filled with gore. My wife and I just watched it last night, and found the acting by the lead characters very believable--young couple in love, travelling overseas for the first time and experiencing the unimaginable. The directing was very good. On the negative side: A couple of the main supporting characters fell a little short in some of their scenes, but it's easy to overlook. And there is the common horror movie flaw of the victim not telling anyone what just spooked them. But overall, it was a satisfying movie, eerie, good score, beautiful scenery and scarey ghost, and didn't rely on over-the-top use of f-bombs, like so many movies seem dependant on.
I seen this pop up on my Netflix notifications so I decided to give it a try I always give the film 5 or 10 minutes before I decide if it's another bad cheesy horror film before I shut it off. This one made it. I have watched just about every horror movie out. I think they did a fantastic job on this film. Remember when watching this that it is not a huge budget film. The whole crew did a great job! A little predictable at times. This was diffinetly 10 steps above most lower budget films. If you are a true horror/thriller/dark movies lover I would recommend it. Had a pretty good script, good camera shots and just enough spooky to keep you on your toes. I hope to see more films from them. They definitely have potential. Great job to the cast and crew!
So I actually sat through this whole movie and first let me tell you acting from the male lead horrible, the token Asian guy gogo can barely speak English in the beginning but towards the end speaks great but refers to himself in 3rd person like some lap dog idiot. Top dog character some white guy just happens to be tuning some drug,sex....thing I don't know how tf that's relevant but knows about the spirit world..just... no
Ghost House is an independent film shot in Thailand, that is steeped in the haunted-legend horror sub-genre. It turns out that in Thailand, tiny houses are erected for spirits to dwell in. Families construct them in hopes to dissuade restless apparitions from entering their homes. Without any egregious spoilers, the movie explores the consequences when outsiders unknowingly disturb the natural order. The visuals are an absolute feast, with all of the elements enjoyed in a good horror film. There are also some real gem moments, which conjure the likes of Dario Argento and David Lynch. If you are mired in the horror genre, you will certainly like Ghost House. So far I've been able to find it on Amazon and iTunes.
