The movie starts off slow... and never picks up the pace. You get a whole lot of pointless info on various characters, with no followup or real explanations. You get an obvious cult of obviously evil people, you get "monster" that does nothing all movie, and you get a "plot" that really could have been resolved in 5 minutes.Simply put, there was no point to the movie. A whole lot of slow nothing, with meaningless bits of information that are never used, and a "climax" that really had little going on. The movie then ends on a scene that makes no sense at all, as it's after everything's finished and nothing can be done.Do yourself a massive favour and stay far away from this horrific piece of garbage.
Anyone that rates this movie higher than 1 star must be related to the mentally and intellectually challenged people that made this film. It's hard to say what is worse....the acting, directing, script or soundtrack. No suspense, no plot, no acting, no twists, no kidding. They thought scary music, that wasn't scary, would make the movie scary. I'm so embarrassed for everyone involved with this movie, especially Jean Smart. How the mediocre have fallen. She must have needed a couple bucks for a bottle of Wild Irish Rose.
I appreciate a genre film that is made for adults. Thanks to patient mood building, solid performances, and a score that was reminiscent of some good John Carpenter, Shadow Man was a very satisfying rental. These days genre films big and small so often resort to CGI, so it was a nice bonus to see some finely crafted practical effects in action.
What a crap show. I can't believe this got a high rating. The movie was slow with bad acting and a story that made no sense. Even at the end of the movie it made no sense. It never explains anything. I was left with a blank face with no idea what I just watched. What a waste of time. Can I have my time back?
