It made absolutely no sense ... I rented it thinking looks like a good horror movie, but the further into the movie you get, the more things spread out and become less evident, I just finished watching it and I still have no recollection of what went on because the plot line is all over the place. I love horror, and I definitely would not recommend this movie. The actors, aren't all that convincing ... some of the scenes are disturbing but not in a scary sense, ... more in the sense that they shouldn't even be in the movie. While the movie has a twist at the end, that is every evident, you would think it would explain what the movie was really about like any other one does, but it just leaves you with that WTF in your head, and all you want do is wish you'd gone with a movie you'd already seen a million times.
God this was bad.....Tom Sizemore was great as the slightly off caretaker. But what was he thinking? Probably just wanted to make a movie with Gina Philips. She is hot. But, what was she thinking? No one seemed to like Jeepers Creepers. I did. I thought she was great in that. And now I see she will be in Creepers 3. I'm looking forward to seeing it.But this film was a serious mess. Usually you see a horror movie like this and say ........hmmm, it must mean something, but I'm not seeing it. Or..........I get it......this must have happened blah blah....but this film doesn't allow for any of that. It's blatantly incoherent. The only way it would work is if you re-wrote it. And why do that. I think it was trying to be a cliché, but that wasn't even working......I'm not going to go into details. Basically......girl goes back to childhood house, haunting memories(of what..who knows!) Girl figures it out. My money says she really didn't figure anything out. Gina took the money and ran. It took me a while to get my DVD player to play this film. It keep giving me a code instead of playing. I'll know better the next time to listen to my player....the code probably meant "movie sucks, back away from the remote"......don't waste your time, unless you're curious and would like to write a creatively bad review. That's the most fun you're going to have with this film..........
A movie has to be really bad for me to fail to see some redeeming quality in it. This is that movie. It has no redeeming qualities. None. The acting is bad. The story (or lack of same) is bad. There is no resolute ending. It is about a woman who must come to terms with a lifetime of night terrors and the cause of them. When her grandmother dies and leaves to her the house where she spent her summers as a little girl, the opportunity for her to deal with her nightmares presents itself. She goes to the house to stay until she can sell it. She transforms from successful business woman to disoriented, annoying screamer as soon as she enters the house. Apparently everything she sees, hears, feels, thinks is symbolic of a childhood trauma. Unfortunately, there is never a foundation developed to which one can relate the symbols. Nothing relates to anything. Nothing makes sense, except we know that she is terrified, maybe guilt ridden from some childhood experience(s). None of her actions are logical, even if you can manage to suspend disbelief, which for this movie is required to even sit through the whole thing. I'd like to see a finished version of this movie, because this version is obviously half baked.
This movie reminds me of Ed Wood movies but it lacks the "charm".Directing is very lazy. It seams like whenever there was a choice of doing something in a harder and better or easier and worst way director made a choice for the second. The movie projects no energy and creates no interest - for me at least - seams like this aesthetic suits other people very well but I had to fast forward a lot of scenes and I actually skipped last 20mins to the end which was an even bigger disappointment: Another movie that ends with discovery that main character imagined everything.I like this ending in Alice in Wonderland but it seams to be very trendy with thrillers and horrors lately and - for me - it ruins the whole thing and seams very easy and cheap way justify the story.Sorry I am not very constructive but I cant say much more - it was a waste of money to rent this film.
