Khoobsurat is one of Sonam Kapoor's best performances. It is about a happy-go-lucky physiotherapist who comes to a royal family's house to treat the family patriarch. How she treats her patient and interacts with the family is the rest of the story. Sonam Kapoor plays the bubbly Dr. Milli Chakravarty with ease. Her mannerisms and actions are absolutely hilarious and make this film a treat to watch. Today she is known more as a fashionista than as an actress. I believe this film will start to make everyone see her as a leading lady. Fawad Khan, who is a well known actor in Pakistani Cinema and Television, is great in his debut. He seems confident and he compliments Sonam Kapoor very well. His performance as the disciplined Vikram Rathore is something to watch out for. Ratna Pathak and Kirron Kher are great in their supporting roles and do not go unnoticed in the film. Overall this film is funny, romantic and makes a great date night movie. This film was not talked about as much as other films such as Haider and Queen, but I believe it should be because I think it is one of the top 10 movies of 2014. Catch it whenever you can and you will enjoy the film.
Honestly I don't like Sonam Kapoor. And that was why I put it off even though I had this movie on my pen drive since ages. Out of boredom I've decided to give it a try. And it was definitely worth it. I won't comment about Sonam's acting skills. But other than that, the movie was a really good one. Never a dull moment. All the scenes were well balanced. Comedy was well brought out. A few people say it doesn't portray the classic well, but fun is there if all the movies are made alike. The title itself tells about the 'misfit' part. Sonam might be a troll when it comes to acting, but one should agree she's got a good fashion sense. Finally, its definitely worth a watch.

Disney's 'Khoobsurat' is a perfect fairytale. It is utterly enjoyable and very sweet. Storyline is nice, though a typical Disney venture. But that is what it is supposed to be, right? You won't miss the typical Disney air since the very beginning. The palace, the prince, the clumsy misfit beauty. Initially Mili reminded me of Anne Hathaway in 'The Princess Diaries' though it was only my initial impression. Mili is a bigger misfit. I totally loved her clothes. So bright and colorful! She made all her scenes look like a spring-garden! Some may have objections on that but then again, I have an inclination for colors. So I totally loved them. When Vikram enters in her room and wonders "room ka kya bana diya hai!", I was thinking that the room was messy but beautiful. She is the little miss sunshine who brings happiness into the Rathore family.Fawad Khan seemed to be a real-life prince. Attaboy Fawad! Could you please have been a little less Princely? You are killing girls man! #FawadFever has spread like an epidemic. OK, no more "fazool ki baatein". As an actor, Fawad Khan has (if any) very little left to prove. Now as a Disney Prince, he has aced it! He has showed us that he is one of the finest actors in the continent. So subtle and so delicate! He perfectly knows what to do and when and how much as well. It is a delight to see how the restrained Prince converts into the lover boy next door. Especially when he talks to Mili's mom towards the end of the movie. The romance between Mili and Vikram is very sweet. My personal favorite "aww" moment is that when Vikram comes to Mili to talk about the "other" night. They were saying something to each other but they were saying something else to each other inside their minds. That is not unfamiliar for 'Zindagi Gulzar Hai' fans. There were a number of super funny scenes. But my personal favorite is the "kidnap" part. I found that totally hilarious. Kirron Kher seemed to me a little too much, but some moms are just like that. Bade Saab's (Vikram's father) character was adorable.Sonam has evolved much as an actor. Her last movie I watched was 'Aisha' and her acting skills were frustrating. But she does well in this movie. May be because Mili is so much like her own self! The locations are beautiful. What could be a better option than Rajasthan for a Royal setting in India? Some editing could be done here and there though. And may be one more romantic song? One thing that kind of disappointed me is that they did not include the "Maa ka phone" video which is uploaded on YouTube. We really wanted to see Fawad dance on big screen. So may be next time in his next film!So my verdict: Go watch Khoobsurat(2014) and come back home with a smile on your face. Happiness guaranteed.
