Six troubled high school students and their chaperon, an optimistic youth ministries Pastor, return from an outdoor character building retreat in the mountains. During a raging storm, their bus crashes, hopelessly stranding them in the middle of the Trucker's Triangle, a forgotten locus of consummate evil in the middle of nowhere.

TRAILER PARK OF TERROR is an astonishingly bad B-movie horror flick that feels like a cheap rip-off of the work put out by Rob Zombie. This trashy movie sees a bunch of dumb characters heading into a trailer park filled with even dumber characters. Eventually they all get taken prisoner by a bunch of undead demons, who are merely bad actors wearing rubber masks. Plenty of torture and gratuity ensues, all playing out without the slightest wit or interest. The disappointing cast's sole redeeming feature is the underrated Lew Temple, of THE WALKING DEAD fame, but the rest of the no-hopers make no impact, and nor does the film.
I don't know why some people watch horrors expecting them to have the best actresses, actors, story lines, special effects etc. There are many low budget (or non blockbuster) horrors that far surpass their huge budget/blockbuster counterparts - which often turn out to be a "flop". This is one of these films.By all means if you only like psychological thriller type horrors, this is not the film for you. If you are a true horror fan and can appreciate a horror film on the "horror" alone, you'll most likely quite like this one. The acting was pretty good, the storyline is perfect imo (not too detailed enough to detract from the gore/terror and not too weak that you want to smack the TV) for the type of film it is, effects are actually really good imo. This is quite simply, a film that does not get hung up on trying to appeal with a love story or some amazing intricate storyline that bends the viewers mind. Do not mistake this for a bad thing. I was expecting a much lower quality of film and while I wouldn't rank it as one of the best horrors, I certainly found it enjoyable to watch, especially once it really got into it (not including the opening scene as I found that easy to watch also). And personally, the songs throughout it I thought were really good too - even if they're not what I would listen to, they were perfect for this film.
Hicks and horror sure seem to go hand in hand. Being at the mercy of stereotypically sleazy and sadistic backwoods boors has been a theme in movies going back a long way; as the hayseed horror hosts at the beginning say, we have Herschell Gordon Lewis and "Two Thousand Maniacs!" to thank for that. Our protagonists this time are a troubled bunch of kids being chaperoned by a well meaning pastor; they have a bus accident in the rain and come upon the trailer park of the title, which the audience already knows, from watching the extended prologue, has a tragic history. Now the undead redneck residents are going to have themselves some fun torturing these poor dumb schmucks. At least with this gang, there's no guarantee of who will make it out alive if indeed anybody does. Based on the comic book series of the same name, this production sure creates just the right look for this show, with some juicy atmosphere. The music is pretty kick ass, with the character of Roach, played by Myk Watford, sometimes breaking into song. Country music star Trace Adkins, who co-stars as the mysterious stranger, also supplies the ditty "Welcome to Hell". Rabid horror fans will dig the shameless, in your face gore fest that "Trailer Park of Terror" ultimately turns into. The cast is populated with some familiar faces and some not so familiar: Rob Zombie regular Lew Temple is Marv, super sexy Nichole Hiltz ("May") is the young Norma who sets the plot in motion, extremely delectable stunt woman / actress Michelle Lee is Miss China, the lovely Priscilla Barnes ("The Devil's Rejects", 'Three's Company') the ill-fated Mama, Duane Whitaker ("Pulp Fiction", "From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money") the creepy Sheriff Keys, and ubiquitous "Hey, it's that guy!" actor Tracey Walter is the "ancient" trucker. Provided all of this is to your tastes, this is a good deal of depraved, demented fun, that's pretty relentless once it really gets going. An undeniable highlight is seeing one of the victims being flayed and eventually deep fried. "Trailer Park of Terror" comes highly recommended. Eight out of 10.
I thought this was an excellent film. I It was well cast, well shot and well written. It isn't a scary movie, I think the classification "Horror" isn't exactly suiting. It has the gore required, however it comes off too funny to be a true horror. It seems more like a comedy action flick, with some horror elements. Thats not to say its a bad movie, its highly entertaining. The trailer park zombies are very entertaining, and capture the redneck stereotype perfectly. Duct tape truly does fix everything. The only beef I had with the movie was the anti-climatic ending. It was going so well, with the demolition derby, and the southern rock complimenting the scene just right, but then they slapped together the very end, and it leaves the viewer sitting on the edge of the seat thinking, "Thats it?" Otherwise, a great, entertaining movie, worth a purchase, or at least a rental.
