An arsonist is on the loose in Bamberg. When a camper van explodes, it becomes clear that the perpetrator is willing to kill. A man dies immediately, a young woman survives with severe burns. She is the daughter of the mayoress. The desperate mother puts pressure on the police: Inspector Behringer and his team are to hunt down the arsonist. However, the closer Behringer gets to the murderer, the clearer it becomes that nothing in this case is what it seems at first.
