Uncensored 1997 took place on March 16, 1997 from the North Charleston Coliseum in Charleston, South Carolina. The concept of Uncensored was that each match on the card was ostensibly unsanctioned, meaning they were not subject to the normal rules of WCW-sanctioned wrestling matches. The main event was Team nWo (Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Hollywood Hogan & Randy Savage) versus Team Piper (Roddy Piper, Chris Benoit, Steve McMichael & Jeff Jarrett) versus Team WCW (Lec Luger, The Giant & Scott Steiner) in a Triangle Elimination Match. Also at the event, Prince Iaukea defended the WCW World Televsion Championship against Rey Mysterio, Jr. (again), Public Enemy wrestled Harlem Heat in a Texas Tornado match, Buff Bagwell faced Scotty Rigs in a Strap match, Glacier fought Mortis, Psychosis was matched against Ultimo Dragon, and Eddie Gurrero defended the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship against Dean Malenko.

Live from Houston, TXAttendance 6,000Your commentators are Tony Schiavone & Jesse VenturaTelevision TitleRicky "The Dragon" Steamboat (C) Vs "Lord" Steven RegalRegal wins the title. Really good match between these two. Not to take anything away from Regal, but Steamboat can bring out the best in anybody.***1/2 out of 5Big Sky Vs Charlie NorrisNorris wins with a big boot to the face. The crowd was bored and so was I. When you get boring chants and Ric Flair chants, it's not good.* out of 5"Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff & The Equalizer Vs 2 Cold Scorpio & Marcus BagwellBagwell and Scorpio win. Pretty good match in all honesty, thanks to Scorpio and Bagwell. *** out of 5Shanghai Pierce Vs Ice TrainIce Train wins with a very sloppy powerslam. This was AWFUL. Plain and simple.3/4* out of 5Tag Team TitlesArn Anderson & Paul Roma (C) Vs The Nasty Boys (W/Missy Hyatt)The Nasty Boys win the titles. This was pure, unadulterated torture. It felt like it went on for eons. You'll rarely see a match as boring as this one. You're better off watching paint dry.DUDBounty MatchCactus Jack Vs Yoshi KwanCactus wins relatively quickly with a Double Arm DDT. He makes a challenge to Vader after the match. Not much of a match, but it advanced the storyline between Vader and Cactus well.*1/4 out of 5World Heavyweight TitleRic Flair (C) Vs "Ravishing" Rick RudeI'm a fan of both guys...but they just don't mesh well together. Rude wins the title from Flair after hitting him with a foreign object. Surprisingly, a really good match from these two. It had its dull moments, but the good outweighed the bad here.***1/2 out of 5War GamesSid Vicious, Vader & Harlem Heat Vs Sting, Davey Boy Smith, The Shockmaster & Dustin RhodesSting's team wins with The Shockmaster getting the rub of all people. Poor, Fred Ottman. The announcers cracked jokes throughout the match of him falling down. He'll never live that down. The match was a decent...if underwhelming War Games.**1/2 out of 5This was a pretty good PPV overall. Quite a few quality matches to enjoy. It doesn't really have that "special" feeling...but It's undeniably a fun PPV7/10

1. WCW TV Championship: Lord Steven Regal Vs. Champ-Ricky Steamboat - First PPV Appearance of overrated Michael Buffer. Match was maybe a little bit too long or slow, but technically precise, there were some nice holds. Regal won the Title from Steamboat! 7/10 2. Big Sky Vs. Charlie Norris - I don't understand why this match was on the card. Norris is terrible adaptation of WWF's Tatanka? And I don't like Tatanka already. Crowd shout "Boring" like crazy and the match was average 5.5/10 3. The Equalizer/Paul Orndorff Vs. 2 Cold Scorpio/Marcus Bagwell - Decent fresh match 7/10 4. Shanghi Pierce Vs. Ice Train - Match had got good scenario. Texas man vs black guy who won. eh.. 6/10 5. WCW Tag Team Championship: Nasty Boys Vs. Champs-Arn Anderson/Paul Roma - Wow, the crowd really hated Nasty Boys. The chanted: Fat Boys, Porky Pig, etc. :) Match was common and quite boring. 5.5/10 6. Yoshi Kwan Vs. Cactus Jack - Pfff. Match about nothing. Moreover Harley Race screwed ending. 5/10 7. WCW World Heavyweight Championship- Rick Rude Vs. Champ-Ric Flair 6/10 8. War Games: Harlem Heat/Sid Vicious/Vader Vs. Sting/British Bulldog/Dustin Rhodes/Shockmaster - I think this were one of the weakest WCW War Games ever. Match was worst than average without action 6/10
