Bunty and Babli are two avid dreamers. Two free souls born into caged small town realities. They grow weary of being two specks on the horizon. They desire the horizon itself. And so they pack their aspirations in worn out bags, whip a scarf of confidence around their proud necks and set forth. On a journey across the length and breadth of the country, spinning circles around the people they meet.

Well, if someone has just to kill time and entertain himself with a juvenile crazy motion picture, then Bunty aur Bubli is the right choice. After all, its not boring and not filled either with overly volatile sequences and neither with cheap, synthetic and temporal cinematic representation that have lately become the hallmark of most of Bollywood films.Above all, the versatile Big B is there to come to the rescue of these scoundrels turned thugs who had mastered the skill to be-fool and trick even the state authorities. The swindling acts of the freedom loving couple played by Abhishek and Rani Mukherjee is laden with interesting script and imaginative screenplay. The Kajra Re song bearing the dance sequence with guest star - Aiswarya Rai, Amitabh and Abhishek added color to the robust story line. The moral lesson should not be lost as primarily; "the Law should be used to reform the criminals and not only to exercise futile punishment !"
Mr Chopra stole the idea from "Catch me if you can" and added all that garbage Hindi Masaalaa. Direction was totally senseless. You can make a comedy, which has some sense. But looks like current Bombay Directors start from the base thinking that all public is stupid and they can put any "masaalaa" in movie, to stretch it for 3 hours as long as they put some top faces on screen and show some skin. If they wanted to copy from English movie, they could have done better job. They could have taken some lesson from "Angoor". But by making some foreigner walking around in India, with millions of dollars in his bag and Deputy Commissioner of Police dancing around in Clubs made it a total senseless movie. In short - A senseless movie, total waste of time and money.
The movies starts at 200mph! Really! Despite the nondescript movie title, it relates you the dreams of two young persons, living in distinctly different locations, having different cultures, and yet, they are bound with a desire to do more than the folks around them. And the movie moves very, very fast from there: both leaving their home-town, for the largest city nearby. They both have very positive ideas, and are duped, robbed of their dreams. The movie is full of surprises and the songs simmer into the movie.Really, it is among the best movie that i have seen this year.Very, very commendable effort!
This is one of the better movies made in Bollywood recently. Everything about the movie is great, especially the acting...however, has anyone noticed that the movie is an obvious copy of Hollywood's Steven Spielberg's "Catch me if you can"? Sure, there are the slight touches to the original, like in here there are two fraudsters instead of one....and also, holding to the Indian tradition of movies they must both be of different sexes and must inevitably fall in love and have a child...not to forget the extremely well choreographed dance sequences in between, which is probably the only thing original in the movie....don't get me wrong, if you consider Bollywood alone, this is one of THE BEST MOVIES...unhappily, i'd already watched the Hollywood version...if i ever watch a bollywood movie that's not a "remix" of a Hollywood one, i'll give it a ten no matter how crap it is.....
