A movie made from Stephen King's short story 'Quitters, Inc', that's the idea I had about No Smoking before watching it. Well.. yeah and NO. 'Quitters, Inc' is about a guy, a chain smoker, who gets mixed up with a company that will stop any kind of addiction by any means. The movie has somewhat the same concept. And though it begins as the short story, on the way it begins to turn in to something else. Reality and fantasy gets mixed up. Dreams and reality begins to merge. The movie transforms into David Lynch from Stephen King. From the Story, Direction, Cinematography, Music to the use of surrealism, fantasy, dreams, reality, fear and humor are great. Most importantly, just like a Lynch movie, this can't be summed up to a single meaning. We can accept what's shown just as that, (even that can be explained in few different ways). Or we could find out some hidden stories inside the symbols. No smoking is not just a film, it's an experience that one can feel and understand in any way they want.A mind numbing surrealistic neo-noir psychological thriller.. A Lynchian masterpiece..Have seen more than 600 Hindi movies in nearly every genre there is, Never have seen a Hindi movie like this.10/10

Here's a warning: If u are not interested in analyzing a movie, this movie is not for you at all.I literally saw this movie 10 times and the count will keep on increasing. An excellent cinema, great work done by Anurag "K"ashyap. This movie really takes you on a roller coaster ride and in the end leaves you so much to think about. The title of the film is "No Smoking" and the director had every option to make it simple and straight but the director dared to take a road less travelled by and the outcome is a class apart, and you don't generally come across such awesomeness. This movie revolves around "K" (played by John Abraham) who is a chain smoker and a self made, arrogant person clearly evident with his one liner is "nobody tells me what to do". His wife Anjali, sick and tired of his smoking habits, decides to call off their marriage and leaves the home. She agrees to come back only on one condition that K have to go to rehab centre run by SHRI SHRI BABA Bangali. K decides to pay a visit and that's where the whole extra ordinary experience of the movie starts. This movie will take you through a journey at the end of which you have to interpret the entire scenario and this will give u a proud feeling.Again giving credit to director and actors (John, Paresh Rawal & Ranveer shorey has done a commendable job), i must say this bollywood movie is epic and has achieved "cult" status.A MUST WATCH!!
