*** This review may contain spoilers *** *Plot and ending analyzed*Patrick Still Lives could have been an interesting concept, but it is a tedious bore since they do nothing with the premise. It is an Italian horror film, so they ripped someone off, the case being here, Patrick (1978) from Australia. Patrick (1978) was a creepy film I remember. Patrick Still Lives says it is a sequel, but don't be mislead. It is a padding time of one hour and a few nude scenes and horror scenes with green eyes superimposed on the screen. That's pretty much it. Even the nudity can't carry this boring film. The corny premise is that a doctor, whose son, Patrick, who got tagged by someone in a car with a bottle, is out for revenge. He invites some dull people to a villa where he has three living specimens on tables who are engaging Patrick, who is on another bed, with psychical energy. The problem with the film is that nothing happens at all, the people talk us to death, and there's no sense of horror at all.Patrick (2013) was even worse, substituting the boring scenes with boring CGI images.

Bearing little of no relation to to the late 70's flick 'Patrick', this exercise in exploitation tries to deliver the goods, only to be impeded by it's own intentions.Patrick is a kid (by kid I mean a guy who looks to be in his 30's) stuck in a kind of waking comma, unable to move or speak, yet fully sentient of the world around (and not around) him. His mostly insane father seeks to avenge/rectify the condition his son is in and sets up a secret laboratory for research and invites a group of people to his estate to test the powers his damaged son now possesses.Pretty much from the start it's clear this isn't going to be a good movie per say, but should work fairly well as exploitation. It gives it the old college try, but consistently comes up short.Problems begin with the script, which keeps afloat about as well as a brick. Plotting is wrong headed and scenarios never approach believable, even by genre standards. The characters are stupid, and I don't mean the average garden variety horror movie retards; I'm talking about some of the most brain dead specimens in all of film. So inept are the characters that even with full motor control and verbal abilities, they still seem more dysfunctional than poor crippled Patrick.Writing has never been the strong suit in these kinds of films, so that could be forgiven if the fan service is up and running. It is, kind of, but not enough to save this effort. Clever and creative deaths are marred by all around cheesy FX and gore. The film's key-note shock scene, a bit where a woman gets impaled through her genitals, sounds more shocking than it really is, as the cut-away dummy used looks so fake as to induce chuckles rather than shrieks. The rest of the deaths suffer a similar fate; creatively staged and imagined, poorly designed and executed (pun not intended). The rest of the technical aspects are par for the course; schlocky acting, cheesy dialogue, and acceptable if all together limp direction. The only saving grace is the notable presence of gobs of full-frontal (mostly all female) nudity.Serious fan of exploitation will garner the most mileage out of this puppy to be certain, everyone else should just pass right by.4/10

MINOR SPOILERS AHEADThe Plot: Patrick is comatose, his father tries to cure him by giving him the chance to kill using supernatural powers (exactly what one would expect); the victims are invited to a beautiful house in the countryside, Patrick kills some of them - with the major exception of a blonde women, who masturbates in front of him. (which is btw the sole way to survive, in case you see green eyes - big like tennis balls - wobbling in front of you, you know) Patrick vive ancora is a quite uninspired movie. There are several killing scenes, mostly below the giallo standard, the only real climax is the controversial staking (vagina to mouth), which is very explicit and not cut at all (mediablaster/shriek show DVD edition). See this scene, be shocked or amused, call for the censor or the Chinese delivery, and skip the rest of the movie. Except you are the sole fan of supernatural-sado-porn-scifi-giallos.If so - get it at any costs.3 black gloves out of 10.

*SPOILER ALERT* *SPOILER ALERT*I bought this DVD having absolutely no idea what the movie was about. All I knew was that it was about a guy with telekinetic powers and that it was supposed to be sleazy. I don't need to know much.Patrick is in a coma. He has telekinetic powers. A bunch of people end up at the wellness center where Patrick is staying. We get the impression that they were invited there by someone with an ulterior motive. I use the word impression because the plot is a bit hazy. There's a scene about an hour into the movie where the head doctor explains the plot to Patrick and to the audience. It then becomes clear why these people are here and what Patrick has to do with it. He wants to hurt these people who have come to the center. There are three men and four women. All the women are hot. I had a good feeling they were going to get naked. I was not disappointed.I sat there wondering how this movie was going to earn its sleaze reputation. Was Patrick going to zap off the ladies clothes? Was he going to make them get naked with each other? What nasty tricks did Patrick have up his comatose sleeve? There are three sleazy scenes. One scene pole-vaults over the top bar and earns a 10 from this sleaze judge. It involves a naked woman and a horny fire poker. Bravo! Another scene involves a Patrick induced masturbation. I'd rate that one an 8.5. The last sleazoid scene has a couple of dogs becoming famished when they smell a naked woman. Score that scene a six. "Patrick Still Lives" is certainly not a good movie. There is no hero, no likeable characters nor does the flick make much sense. But it has three scenes of sublime sleaze. There are some other gory scenes as well which makes this flick worth watching once.
