After many adventures and a thousand difficulties and a thousand women (to put Carlo Verdone) I managed to recover this in my opinion beautiful Korean thrillers of the late 90 As I have said more than once the detective or thriller being my favorite genre I could not and I did not let me miss this Olgami. The film who does not can only label thriller (it is especially in the last 40 minutes) but is primarily a drama, a tragedy caused by a crazy mother-in-law of jealousy and morbidity The plot has no particular ambitions and from the start you know where you will go next, but I have to admit that are inserted some very sensitive topics and why not even plausible, such as incest, but without excess or exaggeration. The acting (apart from an excellent know-jeong Yun very, very partially) is not at the highest levels, but it can fly, the the film stands still alone. Of note is Ji-Woo Choi who plays the part of his son's wife, my mom how beautiful, (to resent me a girl so) can not deny that during the movie to see suffer the oppression by the mother-in-law I could not help but think: "But how do you deal with an angel so bad?" Lastly let me say this: that of many thriller / Korean Drama viewed this I can count as one of my favorites, and I prefer it to Hush (Gwyneth Paltrow), the American version of Olgami and many other Korean thriller released in the period. Sifting through the web I found out that was released in 1999 directed a remake titled Gumyeong though by another director. Certainly to recover!

I enjoyed very much Olgami. A sharp script, great acting, beautiful photography, punctual soundtrack. The movie looks like the explanation of a mathematical theorem about feelings, and it works very well. Not a single boring instant, a fluid narration with some brilliant moments of high tension and suspense, the sane respect of the logic. Some directors should study from this movie the grammar of the cinema: not a single shot is unnecessary or wrong. A standing ovation to So-Jeong Yun, who played the mother: she is able to scare us just with a glance. A critics could be appointed only on the acting of the young friend of Su-Jin, just a little bit forced, but the whole result is considerable.

"Olgami" offers nothing innovative. Actually, one is able to forsee everything that is going to happen in this "mad mother-in-law"-thriller. However, the whole thing is done in a highly entertaining and rather suspenseful manner. There's the son who has an almost incestuous relationship with his caring mother. Now this son is marrying a young, beautiful girl and lives with her at his mother's house. The mother is furious and tries to kick the intruder out. Soon, a full fledged psycho war evolves between the two women.Well, basically it's "Fatal Attraction" within the family. Everyone who enjoys a good thriller will probably like it. And the incest (although it's only hinted at - especially in a disturbing shower scene ... "open your legs") adds a little spice to the plot. Being slightly generous, I'd rate it7/10
