The most ever expected Tamil movie.., Billa 2 has failed to satisfy the hype created by its teaser-trailer..The movie has a mid paced start and a good going.., but the tide turns over so swiftly that its too hard for somebody to imagine a refugee becoming a don out of nowhere. Then there is an exponential hike in heroism. The deals and consignments discussed demands more work up by the hero wherein in-contradiction Billa does it all hands down.!!The mistakes lie in the part of the director n others concerned with the screenplay n script. Numerous speed breakers in between. Its obvious that the director has remade a 1989 movie. In dusting up a decade old movie the director should have taken it in a contemporary manner in which he has failed greatly. In that era., the govt. law enforcement are poor, but is that the ambiance now?Songs don't catch minds. And heroines.., are just come and go glamor dolls.. Coming to the Plus!Ajith (though people felt he should have been shown younger as the movie is a prequel) is the best fit for the role. The black and white caricature of how Billa becomes the don of dons is quite a new and noteworthy trend for Tamil Cinema. Fans have got a feast from their leader., but alas., something goes unsatisfied..!! And I am one of those fans.. With much of disappointment.., giving 7.5/10To conclude.., "If there is a AL-PACINO who is remarked often as Don by the Los Angeles.., it is AJITH KUMAR the only person capable of portraying a Don role in Indian Cinema..!!"

Best action movie in Tamil cinema ever.thanks 2 Mr.Thala AjithKumar.best version of Don.The cool, suave, yet menacing as well as electrifying personality which was carried practically by Ajith throughout the film. His definition of style made Sharukh looks like a joke. Ajith's good looks, style, restrained acting, easily makes SRK pale in comparison. Most peoples that bad-mouth the film are SRK fans that simply felt threatened over Ajith's astounding acting performance.Yeah, truly. What does Bollywood guys do? They attempt to act, called it as acting, trash. Here, in Kollywood, pure talents are ruling the roost. Ajith Kumar is one. A gem.

Firstly, let's take the case of Mankatha. This was touted as a landmark film, being your 50th, directed by a very talented Venkat Prabhu. You played the role of a character that wants only one thing - money. He would do absolutely anything to achieve his goals. I caught it only on its second weekend, and even so, there were enough cheers to turn it into a celebration. As always, it was greatly satisfying to see you on the big screen. But as the movie progressed, I started worrying about certain actions of your character. My concern grew larger when the audiences were applauding everything you did, irrespective of its morality. After the movie finished, I was left with mixed feelings as I admire you as an actor & star, but I was wondering if what I watched was good for cinema as a whole. Especially, watching it with my son and seeing him cheer all the way and loving every gesture of yours, I was wondering if it is indeed a good influence. But I felt I should not criticize it harshly as it was your 50th, and it was a celebration of your stardom. Therefore, I didn't write this article back then.Again, recently, I watched Billa 2 with my son, who was over the clouds on bagging back row internet tickets for a weekend show. Again, my son was cheering at every punchline and unfortunately, every murder you committed. The movie went on as I waited for some hint of redemption or consequence, but I was disappointed. This time, I did not leave with mixed feelings, for I was completely sure of my feelings towards the film - pity & fear.

Billa 2 (2012) Rating: 2.5/5 | Just SatisfactoryBilla 2 is filled with guns and bullet's noise penetrating the ears, including the aggressive action sequences and purports glamour with a parade of at least 30 Item Hot Girls - lifting the "A" certified stamp in the theater. The screenplay and the context of the story is wearing less identity than the item girls - hot clothes bumped in the film. Ajith's performance is typical, smart, spontaneous and also conventionalized as usual the dialogues are lesser than the belly guns in hand - talking with the bullets and firing.Director 'Chakri Toleti' has technically made the film better than Billa 1, but it doesn't mean that he has directed well. Very poor narrative and direction found in the film. Technically speaking Billa 2 was made well, with the good production crew members and in particular cinematography was impressive. Vishnu Varadhan's view of Billa 1 principles are totally engraved with aggressive settings of David Billa and his unfulfilled history. David Billa's every moment, even every second was ripped and carved shot by shot from Brain De Palma's 1983 American crime film "Scarface". The two Tamil language films, directed by Chakri Toleti(Unnaipol Oruvan and Billa 2) both are barely being adapted from the foreign movies. Ajith fans longing for a better movie nostalgia will continue to emanate.Billa 2: A parade of Action and Glamour. Siva / July 2012
