Despite being panned by critics and financially, it still remains a cult film for its humour and one of THE best music. Sanjay Dutt looks very handsome and Urmila has played her role very well. Funniest characters were Paresh Rawal (Pinky), Saurabh Shukla (Tumbley), and Chako. Ashish Vidyarthi and his assistants also do a great job. It is one of the best comedies. Probably better than funniest of Karan Johar/ Shahrukh Khan/ Salman Khan movies.
Daud:Fun On The Run 1997 is amazing film i saw it & it blew me away the story is about 2 people who are after money with cops & bad guys after them.they think that inside a valuable stolen box there is gold worst millions or something but it turns out to be something deadly.its a neutron bomb .will they escape the city or stop the terrorists from destroying cities. the whole movie is funny .sanjay dutt & urmila steals the show.paresh rawal was excellent as villain & rest actors did great but its such an amazing movies that grips you forever. & the soundtrack is by AR-Rahman all songs are fantastic. the direction, story everything is perfect.my rating is 10/10 Must Watch, this is all time fantastic movie
Of the 14 Bollies I have collected so far, "Daud" is my absolute favorite by a large margin. After watching it the fourth time in a few weeks, I'm even more sure of that impression.Urmila Matondkar is just such a joy to behold. There is a number of good-looking actresses, but she somehow has great control over her facial expressions, especially when doing comedy. Remembering simple quotes of hers, like "50 - 50", make me suddenly feel very good...Sanjay Dutt is not your typical look-good, do-good "X.Y. Khan" actor. He's the rough-tough guy, but can also express a variety of feelings pretty well. Together with Urmila, he sure is the dominated part here, but in a very charming way.The side actors playing Chako-ji (the clown who can be very serious) and Pinky (the jovial sadist) also add much flair. Eery scenes can be remembered by just a few words: "Say one last time: jay Hind."- "Jay Hind." - "OK, shoot them." Oh, and from the vehicle aspect, the dump truck on which the big escape starts, and the double-decker bus on which it ends, are also memorable "personae" ...I love "Daud", after watching it four times, and will re-watch it many more times. Maybe one day I'll even understand what "Daya Shankar" and "Uma Parvati" (the pseudonyms used by the heroes for a while) mean and imply...
Ramgopal Varma comes up with a different kind of comedy. Everyone is after a briefcase which contains something valuable. Its a fun on the run kind of movie. Sanjay Dutt and Urmila Matondkar give an excellent performance. The best performance comes from Paresh Rawal. This is Paresh's Best performance after Andaz Apna Apna and Sir. The Cinematography and Sound Recording are excellent. The dialogues are very good. The climax is a let down. This is one movie that could have done well without songs.
