Trailer Synopsis Cast Keywords

Eckermann (Laszlo Kistamas) is a listless computer whiz who spends most of his time lounging in a bathtub holding imaginary conversations with cartoon characters usually more popular with children than grownups. He has some friends who want to use his skills to steal some money from a local gambling joint. He works out a scheme for his friends and returns to his tub. At some point along the way, he is joined in the water by a lovely Czech refugee, who (perhaps inadvertently) makes it possible for him to die there.

IMHO this film is comparable to Stalker. A great anti-utopia with very good music! I could understand what is going on only when I saw it on the 3rd time. :-) It was taken in a beer factory in Budapest. The title is done with the help of Borland Turbo C 2.0 (does anybody remember this IDE? :-). The whole movie is very dark, rude and somehow morbid. Everybody want to leave this brake-down-looking world, but they have to get some money first. One of them creates a program, one get some money and they put on the horse-racing. Not easy to find a place where You can watch it, but it worth to see it! I have the movie on VHS (recorded from the TV) and the music on LP.

This is an unbelievable film from Hungary with an extraordinary atmosphere and plot. A meteorologist living in his sink, watching TV all day long; one day comes up with some men trying to use his genius on computers for cheating in horse-races. It is an astonishing quotation on what our communication age did to individual people. Perfect acting and cinematography. If you can, find it and see it!
