And not in a good Ed Wood kind of way. It's basically an insult to all senses and particularly one's intelligence. It's supposed to be a comedy, a parody/satire of the genre, but the best jokes here are still worse than the worst jokes in the Scary Movie franchise. Therefore the concept that tries to make rape funny doesn't quite land. It doesn't help that the director doesn't know a thing about timing. Or - and I cannot stress this enough - about directing actors. The best of them are struggling with the amateurish dialogue, the rest merely exist. In the loosest sense of the word "exist".I was incredibly embarrased and uncomfortable watching this garbage in the company of other people. This should only be seen in one of those private rooms of your local, as shady as possible X-rated shops, where you can really embrace the bottom feeder in you. "Bunny the Killer Thing" is not weird in any way. It's just bad. Peter Jackson's early films are weird. They also don't have much of a script. They are way gorier and ruder, too. But, unlike "Bunny", they are actually directed, and they have things like timing, jokes and fun. And actual actors. Jackson had enough good taste to make "Bad Taste". These guys just have a bad taste.
I actually had some high hopes for "Bunny the Killer Thing" because the synopsis for the movie sounded like this could be a very funny and interesting movie. However, the movie turned out to be just mediocre, actually. Which was a shame, because "Bunny the Killer Thing" really had potential to be outstanding and really make a stand in the dark comedy genre. However, there was just too much focus on sex and jokes below the belt, to the point where it became tedious and an anchor around the movie. The concept and idea that the writers had for this movie was definitely unique, I will say that. Because it is rare that you come across something as twisted, bizarre and far out there as "Bunny the Killer Thing" turned out to be. But again, it was all weighed down negatively by the blatant sexual layers that permeated through the movie. As for the acting, well I can honestly say that I wasn't familiar with anyone on the cast list, and for most parts then the acting talents were doing good enough jobs with their given roles and characters. However, there were some who stuck out like a sore thumb and were clearly outmatched by the talents of their fellow performers."Bunny the Killer Thing" makes use of practical effects and does so to some success; but do take into consideration that budget and the genre of the movie. So don't except to be blown away by a grand display of impressive effects. The creature design was interesting enough, but again destroyed by the vulgarity of the sexual approach they opted for. This was hardly the funniest of dark comedies that I have seen, nor was it a particularly memorable one. And I highly doubt that I will be returning to the movie for watching it a second time. "Bunny the Killer Thing" does fall into the same area as "Rare Exports", but it just hardly stood up to what that movie turned out to be.
So, I was bored and searched for comedy horrors and stumbled across this gem.As of Jan 2017, it has a poor rating of 4.5. I do not get why? This is a horror comedy that is rude and gross and at the same time very weird. It is about a killer bunny that wants poon and kills. It slowly builds up till you see the creature and it is both funny and terrifying to see. Yes, that is essentially it, a poon loving killer, but it works. It is fun and campy and disgusting. Full of terrible people who do horrible things. With all that, it works.Of you enjoy the rude and crude with a dash of comedy and disgust and laughter, yes this is for you.I recommend and give it a 10 out of 10. Bunny the KillER Thing is a guaranteed killer good time. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED and a MUST WATCH!
This was easily the weirdest and most memorable movie in the Bruce Campbell horror film festival (2015). Get ready for a lot of weird and borderline nonsensical set-up to have a group of Fins and Brits spending the night in a cabin in the woods during winter. Then suddenly, Bunny the killer thing (nothing more complex than a man in a furry suit) comes in, helicopter-swinging his enormous penis around yelling "PUSSY!". The then proceeds to rape (and murder by raping) several people. The wild and trippy ride concludes with 2 cases of homosexual unrequited love, a kidnapped Swedish pop star, and a room full of humping furries. It won't become your favorite movie unless you are on a lot of drugs. But, you will never forget... "PUSSY!!!"
