The most horrible piece of trash I ever sat through. As often with trash movies nothing makes any sense, the plot is full of holes and the whole scenario could not actually happen given the circumstances in which it was set up. This movie is so bad I wouldn't even call it a "throwaway idea" for a film. The whole notion of the movie is something that one could think up in two seconds then promptly discord because it doesn't make any sense. And the cherry on top is that the "aliens" which you never see, have technology that can get them to Earth from another star system but still use RPG like weapons against the humans. TRASH.... Anyone involved with this movie especially the director, writer, & cinematographer should be ashamed and should get out the business altogether if this is the kind of junk that they produce ...
I enjoyed this movie quite a bit! I read through the reviews and can not believe that it is being called the worst movie ever and a waste of time. This was very good and I actually thought while watching it that it was going to be another "Predator" movie.Sure the special effects were bad...but look past that and the story is really neat. This really reminded me of movies from the 1980's with limited special effects and OK acting. Honestly, this was on par with a lot of older movies and you will really like it of you can get past the low budget special effects. My kids loved the movie and my 10 and 6 year old children were often times trying to hide behind their arms and blankets. If you are a fan of old sic-fi and old horror/suspense movies, you will most likely enjoy this movie.
Horrible acting!!!!! Even worse story line!!!!! Terrible camera angling!!!!! Cheap "special" effects!!!!!! Can't even get to see the actual "THING" properly. I wish there was a "-" star rating for this movie. From now on I'm going to read reviews before and not after I see the movie, I don't usually write but this movie was just too horrible not to warn viewers before they watch it. The characters seem to die then come back to life, and for the story line, there's a difference between being desperate to find your spouse and just being plain dumb, as in the case of the couple that went missing. Basically, failure at it's best. And since when running around the forest shaking a camera is entertaining? They should have used the little funding from this film to either pay tuition for the actors, or the director.
Without reading much from the other reviews, I can sum up the movie like this: Blair Witch meets Predator. I am thankful, however, that the producers decided to artificially steady the video, as I would have truly been nauseated by the rapid camera movements. As for the overall plot and production: I've seen better; I've seen worse. Some things in the movie were not very believable; such as all the military guys in full camouflage jungle gear, while the "adventure editor" shows up looking like she's posing for an ad in an LL Bean catalog. I almost mistook her for Laura Dern's character in Jurassic Park; she was dressed almost identically in sleeveless tee shirt, colorful over shirt, tight jeans or shorts, and hiking boots. While she definitely added to the "scenery", if the intent of the group was to conceal their presence in the jungle, she shouldn't be wearing bright yellow. It also didn't help that the commando leader didn't seem like much of a leader; always asking the men "OK? We agree, OK?" He also didn't know much about silent signals either; I was constantly confused by the "I see you" signal. He shouldn't have needed to point out to his men that they should be looking ahead of them, instead of at him. Lastly, the alien skull was definitely a fake; nothing more than a hardened clay model. I was hoping for something better, but I guess the budget didn't allow for it. One bright side to this movie; like others have said, "At least the scenery of Belize was beautiful."
