Samantha Crawford is living a storybook life: she’s happily married, she lives on a ranch where she keeps her beloved horse, and the stories she’s told and illustrated since childhood have become published books. When her husband Billy is killed in a senseless act of violence, Sam loses her faith and her will to live. But a death-defying encounter with two children leads to a reunion with Joe, her oldest friend. As Sam watches “Papa” Joe care for and love the kids in his under-resourced neighborhood, she begins to realize that no matter life’s circumstances, the love of God is always reaching out to us.

This is a Christian themed movie but you don't hear much about religion until the end when the main character overcomes her pain by hearing about the final moments of her husband and finds her faith again. So people who are not into religion will not be bothered by it. People who are into religion will definitely get a positive message. It also has a background story based on a true story. About Papa Joe who started a support for children in poor community who may not have a father and have him as a father figure. A nice message, awareness and a way to attract people to help the actual cause. It is well portrayed by Michael Ealy who gets the viewer engaged in the topic. The child actors who as I saw haven't done much other work also did a great job.The main story is mainly about fighting the pain. The ending twist is pretty good. A bit cheesy most of the time but it works well.
This movie was many things, many feelings and emotions are felt during this movie. The acting was good but could have been better. During the movie the background music wasn't the best mood setter, the tone was off a bit and was setting a different vibe then what it should have. The movie sent a good message about never giving up and the truth always comes out. I felt the theme of the movie was ''never stop fighting for what you love". Over all i felt the movie was inspirational and gave me hope.
Harley Thomas May 8th 2018Unconditional Jerks Every Tear! This film revolves around the life of children in the projects, but the two main characters, Joe and Sam, cross paths again after a tragic accident, which saved Sam, and led her to learn the truth about T. In my opinion, this movie was eye-opening, and it had a very positive energy. In this movie, Sam has lost her husband, they are at a dead end on who his killer is, and continue to wait for clues. Meanwhile, Sam just can't do it anymore. When she goes to the alley where Billy was killed, she hears something and something very bad. This accident leads her to the hospital with two children. When she leaves she crosses paths with her childhood best friend, Joe. They very easily pick up, where they left off, and along the way, she learned many truths about her and Joe's past. This movie was a very positive one, with a happy ending for everyone. Some of the positive aspects are that it brings light to what we call the "projects". The rundown neighborhoods where people live below the poverty line and struggle to provide for all of the children in these houses. It also brings light to the murders that go unsolved, and in detail of how the loved ones of those people have to live with that feeling every day. More positives to this movie are that the characters are very good actors, they all play the role and work together to put a very large message out there with this movie. This movie also brings light to something that is going on every day, and that is the fight against kidney failure. Many people live on dialysis and can die without it while waiting for a transplant for a new kidney. Some negatives of this movie are the stereotypes as follows. These kids are all stereotypes, and it only brings light to part of it. There are so many more types of minorities out there also, especially in the south. Another negative is how they bring light to the Minorities. They make it seem as though they all have some type of access to this kind of love, food, and nurturing. Just a few more negatives, as it was a very good movie. There were quite a few flashbacks, and I believe they didn't have much significance in the storyline, they were really just time fillers. When movies have time fillers, it gets a little bit boring. On to the characters! The acting done in this movie was very well played, and I believed in what they were saying wholeheartedly. I think my favorite character was Keisha, she was a phenomenal young actor and played the role so well. She showed fear, happiness, joy, and sadness with her expressions and body language, better than I have ever seen. Another character I would like to touch on is Sam. Sam was not only a significant character in the movie, but she was great at playing her role. A distressed widow, trying to find a purpose, a reason to keep going. She was great at showing compassion, even when she felt nothing at all. In the end, this movie was very well thought out. I think that it probably could have had a better script or storyline, but it was still a tear-jerker and got its point across effortlessly. They really brought light to the struggles that the people go through in these neighborhoods and the struggles people who even aren't struggling financially. Everyone struggles and this movie brings a lot of light to those situations. 4.5 STAR RATING
Samantha Crawford, a wrecked widow finds a new reason to live when she saves a child that got hit by a truck. She soon finds out that the child she saved is cared for by Sam's child hood friend Joe Bradford. In fact, he cares for many children in his neighborhood. This lets Sam find a purpose in her life; but clues about her husband's killer surface will she risk her new life for answers? This is basically the only good thing in the movie, the over arching story. It's a true story about redemption and faith. Its wholesome and clean, but children might be the only people not able to notice the terrible visual effects and overall cheesy presentation and acting. The movie does have some good actors. Many overshadow the others. The main stand outs are Michael Ealy as "Papa Joe" Bradford, Gabriella Phillips as Keisha, Kwesi Boakye as Macon and, Cedric Pendleton as Anthony. Like I said earlier the plot is basically the only thing that saves this movie. It has a good message that anyone can learn from. It has subtle Christian themes so if you're okay with that then it's a bearable Christian movie. Where do I start with the complaints? Maybe the terrible flashback, or the unrealistic depiction of the decisions the real people have made. Let go with the later. There are scenes in this movie that seem so unrealistic that its laughable. If you didn't know that this movie is nonfiction, then you would say this movie is very unbelievable. It comes down with the setup for those designs and the presentation of them. Another negative I have with this movie is the Cheesy/Cliché sense in this movie. If you imagine a cliché country romance scene, then you pictured a whole connection between two characters. The Cheesy music accompanied by the scenes don't help ether. Some of characters are mostly likable. Over time they become less annoying. They grow on you and they become more believable. The thing you have to remember is that I said some of them. All the others either don't contribute to the story at all or are there to waste time and confuse the audience. There are plot lines in this movie that half way into the movie they forget about and fill it in with something else. I get that they have to stay true with the real people's lives but don't build something up and then forget about it. Over all this movie was hard to watch. That basically describes this movie. I would not recommend this movie at all. It not really worth your time and there are better movies out there. If I were to score this movie out of 10 I would give it a 3.
