Seagal stopped trying after Exit WoundsIt looks as though all it takes to get him to sign on for one of these straight to DVD disasters is a decent budget for a buffet where he can contribute to his ever expanding waistline The money spent on catering for this mess obviously detracted from his wig budget, as his frizzy mullet is sadly neglected. Half his lines are clearly and poorly dubbed, and the lines he did deliver are breathless from the effort required to keep himself from falling overThe most amusing aspect of Seagal is the flattering and svelte pictures of him that grace the DVD covers
So to continue my mammoth Seagal season I just finished watching 2006′s direct-to-DVD Attack Force. I IMDb'd the flick before watching to see what I'm in for and was greeted with a measly 2.4 rating. I thought to myself "it can't be that bad, I love terrible movies anyway!" I was, on the whole, wrong. The premise is good, it's an atypical Seagal revenge flick full of dead bad guys, bullets and blood. Everything I look for in a movie but the narrative, production and overall execution was the worse I can ever remember seeing! There are numerous times in which Seagal gets his voice dubbed by someone that sounds nothing at all like him for no apparent reason. I'd suggest it's poor recording equipment or a crap editing. Other flaws include very obvious set decoration, stones moving in the breeze by the wind, **ahem polystyrene**, stunt doubles of a different ethnic background and the aforementioned atrocious post production work. The editor needs to be shot!Seagal was actually OK to be honest, no Oscar winning performance but conventional and entertaining. I don't like bad mouthing Seagal but if I were his Steamroller Productuons team I'd have pulled this off of the shelves years ago.I gave it a 3 out of 10 and would only recommend watching this if the only thing on TV is X- Factor, otherwise give it a miss.
Another Seagal cheapo shot in Romania. Almost all scenes play in total darkness which made it even cheaper than the others I guess, but it's the best thing about the movie because it adds a certain horror movie feeling. At the beginning, it seems to be only a crime story: Commander Lawson (Seagal) loses his team to a female killer. He finds out she is addicted to a new drug called CTX, a trace that leads him to the chemist Tia (Lisa Lövbrand) and the dealer Aroon (Adam Croasdell, best actor in this movie!). While the body-count is rising, everything becomes more and more bizarre and turns into an apocalyptic fight for survival. Despite the annoying hand-held camera shaking around for no purpose, "Attack Force" does have a couple of good bad moments. It just seems everyone somehow lost interest while making it. If it was more to the point, it could have been worthwhile. Maybe it lacked a stronger director to push everybody a bit and iron out the bugs?
after reading the reviews of others posted here, I am not going to blame any of this on Steven Seagal, however one must wonder what concessions Mr. Seagal must have made in order to be chosen for a part in the movie. This fiasco kinda reminds me of Executive Decision, that I remember being billed as "starring Steven Seagal" but he was actually only in the movie for about 10 minutes. Okay, maybe Seagal was in this movie for longer than 10 minutes, but I think in the case of this movie, less would have been better - at least for Mr. Seagal. If he could have distances himself away from this film, all the better for him.Okay, I won't waste more of anyone else's time here, I'll just agree with everyone else that have posted here - don't waste any of your time, if you haven't seen this movie yet. I forced myself to sit through it because I didn't read up on anything about this before I decided to place it on my DVR, and now for some strange reason, my DVR won't delete it ... ARGH!
