This re-make is pretty fabulous! But it had a messed up release by Fox who have since blocked most clips of it on You Tube. Fox has pretty much buried it. It's every bit as good as the original and better in many ways. I think all the minor characters are better in the re-make and it's a very different presentation but superior in my opinion. The Jury's out on Frank'n Furter though...a different interpretation but a noble one. Tim Curry, who makes a pretty deflated appearance in the new version, is a hard act to follow. But the Transgender actress Laverne Cox, who plays the new Frank pretty much knocks it out of the ballpark. She has big steps to fill but she does a great job. I loved it! Probably more than the original to be perfectly...well, um...Frank. I Hope you can track it down. Sadly the haters attacked the re-make and Fox Films did nothing to save it. Such a pity...I thought it was brave and quite extraordinary! Hopefully, like the original Rocky, which was also a box office flop, it will live again. Ignore the low ratings. This is in most ways a superior version.
The Rocky Horror Picture show released in 1975 was a cult classic which has since gained a following that has been huge over almost 50 years the remake is supposted to make the orginal so special and introduce a new generation into Brad and Janet's story a night they won't forget and yet this remake was so forgetable and i really thought that by copying the entire original movie they could not screew anything up and yet i thought that the songs while the same as the original had a certin forced feel to the songs and the time warp was streched out and and had nothing that the original had. The action and comedy that the original had was almost gone and i thought that it didn't have the pazzaz that Tim Curry brought to Frank-N-Furter and Laverne Cox did bring her own take to the character and the rest of the cast Ivy Levan ,Ryan McCartan, Victoria Justice, Christina Milian, Staz Nair, Reeve Carney, Adam Lambert, Annaleigh Ashford and Tim Curry bring there own take on there chracters and some of the characters like Eddie was butchered and was not treated horribly. Overall I didn't like the remake and some parts made me feel nostalgia for the original movie and some parts of it made me regret the original because of how terrible they made it and i think that possibly it was a bad idea that they even remade the original movie and they should have just left it and i hope they don't do it again
This was just a popped out version of an iconic film and musical. It's supposed to be rock music and the lip-syncing is just too obvious and terrible. The cast seemed to have no energy and really was just a huge let down all round. If you have seen the original Rocky Horror Picture Show, don't waste your time with this because it will just make you mad. 10/10 would NOT recommend!!
As someone who was originally a huge nope to a remake of this, but has also seen a lot of good remakes lately, I thought I'd give this a chance to prove me wrong. I really ... really... really... was right, this should've never been remade. This was so bad I just logged into my account for the first time in probably a year. I've never done a review of any movie before, but I watched this, and I had to let this one thing at least be known:If you have ONLY seen this version, try to erase the entire thing from your memory and please watch the original. Its a beautiful story and nothing like these emotionless hipster kids playing Halloween dress up. Oh and Jesus Christ is it that hard to find an actual tap dancer?
