A reporter's dream of becoming a news anchor is compromised after a one-night stand leaves her stranded in downtown L.A. without a phone, car, ID or money - and only 8 hours to make it to the most important job interview of her life. Walk of Shame benefits thanks to a hilarious perfomance from Elizabeth Banks in the main role who has a really really bad day and yes sure the film has some cliches and that but it's pretty funny and that's all it matters plus the 2 police men were also pretty damn funny especially the redish hair guy, give it a shot it's great. (A+)
I left the film, Walk of Shame, with no doubt that Elizabeth Banks, with the right material, could perhaps tickle the funny bone. She seems like a potentially gifted comedienne. However, this film does her a disservice because it just isn't funny. She wakes up in the apartment of a handsome and nice guy played by James Marsden but instead of waiting for him to return, this potential anchor for a news station goes out in a rough part of a city running afoul of numerous obstacles (like trying to find her car which has been impounded, snatching a kid's bike to get around, hopping on a bus without a buck fifty in change which has her being mace sprayed by the driver, being cursed by some jagoff she meets in a park, meeting a Jewish man with focus issues near a synagogue, and trying to evade two police officers after her). This simply isn't smart or witty enough to rescue poor Banks from the doldrums although everybody in this cast works their ass off willing to try. If there is a consolation, Banks looks damn good in that tight, yellow dress, although the mean-spirited script has her called a hooker hoodlum, with nearly all those she encounters offering nothing but ridicule and hardship. Banks just deserves better than this film which accosts her with one unfunny bit and gag after another. Attractive cast gives it their best shot which is altogether tragic that the dialogue doesn't help them any.
I think this movie has a particular type of audience who might enjoy it. It has some funny scenes and lines. The yellow dress and heels also are the huge part of the movie. Its mostly based on your everyday stereotypes of how girls dress which has effect on how people react, yes the opening credits are a bit funny. This movie is a comedy, but somehow, I mean you kind of know what to expect. Its not the funniest thing out there, for me that is. Of course the lady in the movie is beautiful, with her handsome boyfriend that she just met in the club. If you into really serious movies you might not love it. It has its few giggles but that's it mostly. Another comedy you might forget.
Is this a comedy? Also a comedy is able to make the public to laugh at least 30% of all the story. This movie was so tiring...so boring and these artificial jokes were so childish. Even children will not like it. Why they shoot this movie? Why studio production is realizing this pseudo comedy? Why people should spend so much money for...nothing? At the end, this movie was less than popcorn movie. I was not expecting a real drama or big tragedy here but at least to make people to laugh is so easy. This director of movie should stay home and start to study or to review it again this scenario or what he did and to try to be more happy and positive and to spend his fake energy for something better and not to lose the time of people and not to throw on air these money of movie for nothing. Thank you for wasting my time!
