Eddie Lomax is a drifter who has been in a suicidal funk since the death of his close friend Johnny. Riding his motorcycle into a small desert town where Johnny once lived, Lomax is confronted by a gang of toughs, who beat him and steal his bike. However, Lomax is not a man to take an injustice lying down, and soon he begins exacting a violent revenge on the men who stole his motorcycle, with local handyman Jubal Early lending a hand and several area ladies offering aid and comfort.

Not much ass kicking in this one - very little in fact. But, on the plus side, everything JCVD shoots with a gun explodes (motorcycles, barrels, etc.). There's a few building explosions in there too which is pretty sweet. The scenery is nice - filmed in the Mojave desert in Cali. Would love to check that out. Also, there are a few great tit shots (why doesn't every movie have 'em?), a respectful nod to the 80s when they were mandatory. Young Jamie Pressly looks hot. Damn. Pat Morita's accent is hilarious, and the old man from the Seinfeld episode is in this movie too (the one that has the old records that Kramer and Neuman take). So bad it's good. jacobnunnally.blogspot.com
Now, 5.1 is the current rating. I say that's a great rating for a JCVD movie, but here people contributed to that score got it completely wrong.Worst ever performance by a famous lead actor. I was not expecting a western classic or a decent bad action movie. I knew exactly what was coming. But JCVD's acting right from the beginning in this one as I said worst ever performance by a famous lead actor.Gabrielle Fitzpatrick was stunningly beautiful and Pat Morita had few funny moments. There was a sex scene, a couple of nude girls, and a shot of JVCD's ass. Vincent Schiavelli as an Indian guy. Of course some absolutely horrible actions scenes. The least I expect from a decent bad action movie is tolerable acting. JVCD and most of his co-stars failed completely on that aspect.
this van damme action flick is a decent enough, but its quite light on action until the end, and even then its quick and not really exiting, but never the less its enjoyable enough, and even offers up a few laughs, not all intentional, there are a couple of good fights, but not many, and not too long, there short and snappy, there is a supporting role from danny trejo and im still not sure why hes there he just is, i enjoyed this movie, it was far from boring, but it wasn't one of his best not even close, but it remains a decent action flick none the less, and i recommend to van damme fans, as they may wanna check this out
Also known as 'DESERT HEAT' I caught this movie recently on cable. Van Damme's acting will never be mistaken for that of Humphrey Bogart but even Chuck Norris would have been embarrassed by this weak attempt of a beaten rebel biker flick. The dialog is deadly, the action scenes are hum drum at best and the plot is almost nonexistent. Pat Morita offers some mild comic relief but other than that the movie is a total bore. It's obvious Van Damme was just showing up for a paycheck on this one. If you must watch it wait for the scene where his good friend Johnny bites the dust and then Van Damme cries over his death. Truly acting at its worst!
