Anybody who believes that a Disney movie is going to have great acting skills needs to wake up. The same thing needs to be said for those who think that they will be serious or believable. Disney thrives on the imagination, so for those who don't like this movie because people don't just break out into song in real life, welcome to the world of Disney. That being said, I enjoyed this movie immensely. It is a step up from the original two. The only reason why it got a lower rating was that more people went and saw it, and they didn't like it for reasons posted above. The acting is decent enough, despite what I mentioned above. Corbin and Monique are good as the two lovebirds who are there for our main characters. Ashley is just as evil as ever, and Lucas knows how to dance and have a good time. And let's not forget our lead actors; Zac and Vanessa aren't the best actors today, but they seem to be having a great time together here; it really is a shame that they are broken up now. However, if anything, you are here to see the musical numbers. This is where HSM 3 is a step up from the first two. Because it's a big-screen movie unlike the first two, the musical numbers have to be bigger and better, and bigger and better they are. You've got the great chorus numbers, "Now or Never," "I Want it All," "A Night to Remember," the show itself, a graduation rendition of "We're all in this together," and, of course, a song called "High School Musical;" then you've got the softer songs called "Right Here, Right Now," "Can I Have this Dance" (which is the best love song between Troyella out of the series), "I Just Wanna be with You," "The Boys are Back," "Walk Away," and "Scream." All the songs are much catchier than the ones from the first two, and they are the movie's highlights. All in all, check your brain at the door and just sit and have a good time. That's what this movie is about. If you go in thinking that the actors are going to receive academy awards, with a movie that takes itself seriously, then you are setting yourself up for failure. Everybody should know this. A 9/10 for me.
Disney will you please stop with this torture. i mean really how many times can we see stupid teenagers sing about Capri pants. these teens need to grow up. i want to see the one movie where they are all grown up. they submit there 401 (k)'s and do there taxes and there mortgage that is if they can get married. i swear if they make one more of this they are going to make me lose my mind up in here up in here. what would be really funny is that if they started cursing. example. all i have to say is....... The last film in the Disney franchise was the only one that got a cinema release, that didn't really make much difference to proceedings, but it pleases the target audience, from director Kenny Ortega (Hocus Pocus). Basically Troy Bolton (Zac Efron), girlfriend Gabriella Montez (Vanessa Anne Hudgens) and the rest of the gang are spending their last year in East High School in senior year, facing graduation and parting ways. Coming to terms with all these changes, Troy wants a basketball scholarship attending at the University of New Mexico, but he has a good stage presence, and Gabrielle wants to go to do performing arts in Julliard School of Arts in New York. Spoiled, rich and shallow Sharpay Evans (Ashley Tisdale) wants recognition by becoming a leading singing star in the school's final musical show, but looks beaten by Gabrielle. Sharpay has a new sidekick to help her get what she wants in British exchange student Tiara Gold (Jemma McKenzie-Brown), and her twin brother Ryan (Lucas Grabeel) is gaining a reputation as a great choreographer. Also, Troy's best friend, basketball teammate Chad Danforth (Corbin Bleu) and Gabrielle's best friend Taylor McKessie (Monique Coleman) look like they are going on different paths as well. After the usual down on hopes and dreams stuff, Troy and Gabrille come back together for the final musical show, all the students get their degrees for graduation, Troy says the final goodbyes, and everyone sings the final song, "High School Musical". Also starring Olesya Rulin as Kelsi Nielsen, Chris Warren Jr. as Zeke Baylor, Bart Johnson as Coach Jack Bolton and Alyson Reed as Ms. Darbus. The songs are catchy, the choreography is actually really good, and there are bright colours all over the place, a good way for the trilogy to end and a fun musical comedy drama. Worth watching!
Warning: This is a movie with NO story plot in the strict sense.I know that a musical kind of movie features music and dance scenes but that does not make up for the lack of content. Now all I recall from this movie is a bunch of crazy graduates flooded with adrenaline rush and dancing their way into university. Only two story elements in this movie: 1.The struggling decision-making rhapsody for Troy and his annoying girlfriend. 2. Poor Sharpay betrayed by her personal assistant (and by bloody Troy couple again). I won't call them stories that need an entire movie to tell. They are just 'drama scenes'.Even some of the Gaga MTVs, egg. 'Telephone', are more fleshy in story details than this crap. And speaking of the characters in this movie....The Troy couple are eye candies but they lack in character and are not impressive at all. And I have to air grievance for Sharpay here: The East High crew treat her like sh*t. I didn't see her ever doing anything wrong in this movie, but the East High crew continued to make fun out of her, to the point of annoying me as an audience. Sometimes I just wanna cry out loud: 'Leave her alone! I wanna see more of Sharpay singing and dancing!'She is not a dumb blonde, for god's sake. She gets real talent and deserves all her effort in pursuing her actor dreams. However, she ends up being a clown. I was very much impressed with the first one in this sequel but the last two totally sicked me away.
