Though he is known for campy American titles such as Rush Hour, Shanghai Noon and The Tuxedo, Jackie Chan's finest films were released outside of the United States and to this day millions of people worldwide can agree they are the most entertaining films of all time. Jackie Chan's Who Am I is another film to add to the massive list. After spending a few years working on projects and doing appearances in the United States, Jackie Chan went back to directing his own film once again. This time Jackie Chan was a member of the special forces. Their mission was to kidnap some scientists in South Africa to work on a massive weapon that could be sold for millions of dollars. Everyone involved with this mission, with the exception of several "higher ups" were to be killed in a staged helicopter accident. Jackie Chan was fortunate enough to fall out of the helicopter before it crashed and killed the rest of his colleagues. Once his face surfaced again, he was seen as a threat to the project. The only problem is Jackie Chan has amnesia and he doesn't know why everyone was after him. It was up to him to fight for his life and to do what's right. What makes Jackie Chan's Who Am I superior to majority of Hollywood films is all of the stunts in this film were as real as they appeared on film. There were no dummies, no nets, no green screens, etc. When a film has a realistic aspect it makes it easier to suspend disbelief. The storytelling was pretty solid. All information you needed to know regarding the film was explained properly throughout the movie. They didn't over analyze everything nor did they leave anything out. It's the perfect film to watch without getting confused or leaving you scratching your head. The fight scenes were absolutely amazing! The action looked as real as it would look if you witnessed a street fight outside of your home. They didn't need slow motion replays, fancy music or the typical close ups during fight scenes in Hollywood films. The action sold it's self, which is quite rare in the film industry.I felt most of the characters in the film did a good job portraying the character they played. Right after Jackie, my favorite character was agent Morgan. He was literally somebody you wanted to jab right into the face. The only character I felt was lacking was Christine Spark aka the "reporter". It seemed as if she tried too hard to portray herself as a good person that was on Jackie's side.Overall, the film is very good! It's hard to find any flaws with majority of films directed by Jackie Chan.
No doubt that this is my favorite Jackie Chan movie. Great Plot, decent acting, great fight scenes ( the roof scene was no doubt amazing)You gotta love this movie. The Plot is about an operative who has lost his memory and now has people after him. This film as beautiful scenery, and Chan does an excellent job making his character believable. This is a must see for all fans! There is some continuity with the lancer, but that cars nice anyway one scene its damaged and the other scene its completely new. But if you can overlook little things like that, you can really enjoy this movie. Jackie Chan is funny in this movie and this is a must see for all fans.
this movie is excellent. i have stuff to do so I'm not going to write much. the storyline is amazing, actors are excellent, locations are awesome, humor is A+. If you are a Jackie Chan movie fan of any age, this is for you. Also, some immatures here must understand that translations may be dumb and some phrases don't fit in, but thats just part of the movies without perfect English-speaking actors released before 2000. Btw, in my opinion, all the latest movies with Chan like medallion, the tuxedo and around the world in 80 days sucked. Shanghai knights ruled, didn't see the 2nd one, and i know i should. The 10th line goes here.
OK, the film does not shine from the plot point of view, but the fight and stunt scenes are incredible. As we could get used to it from Jackie Chan. I don't mind if there are goofs in the acting or the plot. The action scenes are compensating them. I don't know if there is another actor capable of such stunts, maybe Jet Li. But he is rather good in kung-fu, while Jackie also does some amazing jumps, climbings, rolls down on a rope, runs down on the side of a skyscraper. The car stunts are not bad, although in some points they seem goofy. And there is the final fight scene. The last fights are always special in his movies, and this will not disappoint You. If You like Jackie Chan's movies, this is a must see.
