Rambo III the third sequel it is my at least favorite film in the series of the three, but i love it for what it is. Still It is an bad-ass kick-ass action film. This is my childhood movie the movie I grew up with it. Yes I know I have said it a lot of harsh things about this film. Still it is Stallone film it is Rambo my favorite comic book hero. It was my first film I saw in the Rambo trilogy it is my childhood film. I am going to watch it every year. Politically I disliked it but as an action film I like it and I am going to judge as an action movie. This movie to me is solid 9.Rambo III is the third installment in the Rambo saga. Sylvester Stallone returns in the 1988 sequel as John Rambo, the former Green Beret, who drops into Afghanistan during the Soviet occupation after his mentor Colonel Trautman (Richard Crenna) goes missing following a mission.Rambo III is not really my all time favorite action film it is more ridicules and un believable. I would rather watch Predator 2 or Cobra than this movie. First Blood and Rambo: First Blood Part II were both classic films this movie was a step down and mayor disappointment and I am glad Sylvester Stallone made the fourth movie Rambo which I love it more. Here is what love in the movie: Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) fires his explosive C4 tip arrows at the helicopter gunship and destroys the helicopter with his bow and C4 explosive arrow. That is my bad-ass scene in the film Rambo fires an arrow with an attached blue cyalume light at the Soviets in the cave. Those are bad ass scenes in the film. They don't make movies like this in the movies anymore. Sylvester Stallone is in his best shave of his life, he goes under tanks and drag him self that was really difficult but Stallone was muscle so he made it. Rambo has a new survival knife a modified bowie designed and I love how he uses to cut barbed wire on the base perimeter. I love the fight between Rambo and Kourov (Randy Raney) and which Rambo uses a fly kick I love that in the film. Rambo climbs the wall without climbing equipment that is memorable and favorite scene of mine. The film was directed by Peter MacDonald and written was by Sylvester Stallone and Sheldon Lettich who made 4 movies with Jean-Claude Van Damme. Jerry Goldsmith return for the music score the last time for the film, but wasn't memorable in the movie like was for the first two. What can I say Rambo III is a fun action sequel but I enjoy the first two movies more and I enjoy Rambo (2008) MiLES way more. The Deseret scenes in the film were cool. The reason my at least favorite is the action takes 50 min till Rambo goes in to rescue mission. Rambo suppose to be one men army but he wasn't he had help with Mujahedeen's I don't know why and Richard Crenna I like him in the film but he is not memorable in here like he was in the first two movies. Rambo 3 is an okay action film I like it, it could have been much better I love First Blood to death and I love Rambo: First Blood Part II to death, Rambo (2008) I have enjoyed more and I love it to death. 9/10

It's easy to be distracted. It's easy to forget that, while you are entertained by the heroism of the hero, the badness of the bad, and the military action, at the same time you are being taught a lesson. Watching Rambo III, your heart learns: enemies are evil and therefore it is OK to mutilate and kill them in whichever way. They are not human, they are devils. Let me illustrate my point I went to the premiere night in 1988 in the medium-sized Bavarian town I lived in at the time. I will never forget the moment when Rambo shot an arrow at one of his mean adversaries - oh boy, had he been established by the story as a particularly mean monster! - and the arrow went right through his head and - whack! - nailed him to a tree: half of the audience bursted out in shouts of sheer triumph and hate and revenge fulfilled. It was frightening. I witnessed the creation of a mob.

Rambo 3 is my favorite Rambo in the series sure i know it's dumb, campy and over the top but that is what i loved the most about it it doesn't take it self seriously Stallone against a whole army and he's response is f@ck it or burning himself? or even going tall to tall with a huge Russian guy? what is not there to like common this movie is awesome it's not Rocky, Creed or Cop Land because it wasn't meant to be that kind of movie it's even more over the top than Rambo 2: First Blood Part 2 and that makes me so happy we all loved Commando why not like this film too? Also the whole war between Afghanistan and the Soviets it tries to bring some drama into the story also and with the ending it kinda succeeds on it Rambo 3 even if you like it or not is not a 5.7 kind of film especially with that opening fight. This movie is just entertaining from beginning to end.

The third instalment in the Rambo film franchise, Rambo III has the raw energy & unflinching brutality of its predecessors and is a typical example of 1980s action cinema but unlike the last two chapters, it's also grated with lots of cheese which turns it campy at times but then again, it makes up for that drawback with its impressive action set pieces.Rambo III finds the Vietnam-war veteran residing in Thailand when he's approached by his former commanding officer who asks for his assistance in delivering supplies to anti-Soviet fighters in Afghanistan. Tired of fighting, Rambo refuses the offer but when he's captured by the Soviet forces, Rambo goes on a solo mission to rescue him from his captors.Directed by Peter MacDonald & co-written by Sylvester Stallone, Rambo III lies very much on the same scale as First Blood Part II for it puts Rambo against the same enemy, only in a different setting. Once again, it's the action elements that keeps the momentum going even if those sequences can be predicted from afar, plus the character of Rambo remains inert to vulnerability. The film ups the ante on body counts & explosions, a welcome aspect, but its violence isn't affecting on an emotional scale. The desert locations & set pieces provide a little authentic feel to its setting, its 101 minutes of runtime is felt at times, and as far as performances go, Stallone dons the Rambo suit as per expectations but it's also good to see Richard Crenna getting more screen time than before. On an overall scale, Rambo III is another fine entry in the Rambo saga that further solidifies the legacy of its titular character, features a few cool moments of action over the course of its runtime but just like the last one, it's no match to First Blood. Surfacing at the time when Cold War themed action was becoming a thing of the past, Rambo III somehow manages to be an enjoyable ride, thanks to Stallone's screen persona & good dose of warfare.
