I felt that this film really did good job following how the book went. The plot was really good. I really liked how they show different point of view or ays of life, The acting was really top notch . The Fantasy part really went well with other parts of the film without over powering the rest of the film. A film that people should watch.
I first watched this movie when I was in fourth or fifth grade. They had the makings of a great love story. I felt that Winnie could have just gone with Jesse. Since she didn't, she could have at least drank from the spring. She had a much better relationship with her parents after the whole thing, and as time went on and she didn't age, I feel that she could have found the freedom to move. I was also curious about why it took Jesse 100 years to make it back to Treegap. 20 or 30 would have taken care of anyone who knew about Ma Tuck killing the Yellow Suited man, and he was the only other person who knew about the properties of the spring.Overall though it's one of my higher rated romance movies, and even though I saw it so young, I sat in my classroom and cried at the end. Definitely gonna need to buy it.
romance. mystery. a sweet lesson about purpose of life. a seductive cast. air of fairy tale. maybe, it is a not great movie. only touching, fragile, waft, delicate, decent play with a not new idea. that kind of film who remembers values and magic and the art of splendid actors without have spectacular ambition. because it is only a soup for soul soup , out of usual cages of melodrama. it seems be a song and the option for Alexis Bledel and Jonathan Jackson is really inspired in this sense. a nice film about a deep dream of each of us. a seductive theme, more important than small errors, and precise tools for give it brilliance.
'Tuck Everlasting' does have a Disney fairy-tale feel but there's more to it. The film does raise some issues regarding how people are treated with injustice only because they are different. In this case, we see how the Tucks have been chased as witches because of their immortality. I would have liked to see director Russell put more focus on the struggle of the Tuck family and the development of the love story between Jesse and Winnie. I liked how the ending was written. It didn't end with a fairy tale cliché but rather indicated how valuable life is because of its limit.Even though the editing appears patchy, the music and camera-work is good. There's a certain calmness in the pace as the director invites the viewer to explore the forest along with Winnie. I liked the natural forest setting. The acting is great. Ben Kingsley, Amy Irving, William Hurt and Sissy Spacek are superb. Jonathan Jackson is competent but it is Alexis Bledel who steals the show. She exudes the innocence, adventurousness and charm that's required to play Winnie, a role that fits her like a well-fitting glove.'Tuck Everlasting' is a decent and pleasant watch. It might not be everybody's cup of coffee but those looking for light Disney-like (and unDisney-like in some ways) entertainment may find something in this.
