Seen this tonight at a late showing & was blown away by how intense this film was!Seen the first Unfriended back in May 2015 & was impressed by it! Then a sequel was announced, but not mentioned too much, or seemed to have little to nothing happening in terms of its progress. But like Gallows 2, (with it not only being a Blumhouse Film also sequel to a 2015 original called The Gallows) it was filmed in secret & to be released to UK cinemas on the 10th August 2018! I at first took this with a pinch of salt & never thought it would get the cinematic release it did! I thought due to how low key it was, that it would get a DVD release...! How wrong I was...!The film is about a young man who steals a laptop which is connected to the Deep Web, the killer in the deep web is part of a abduction racket which lures people in to play sadistic games with them, manipulating the victims & then deviously making them out to be the perpetrators using devious, yet manipulative tactics by abusing the tools of the internet & computer alone!Well I went to see it & must say I was gripped from start to finish! The film was epic as hell in so many levels! The story-line this time around is more complex & I must admit, a little bit confusing, but hey it's s set up from Unfriended as it has more to think about & keeps you locked in!I won't spoil to much but the deaths in this film were pretty creative & unique! I loved the dark twisted nature of the film as well, how devious the killer was in manipulating the characters! The way the killer was so creative & calculating was just amazing! This sequel gives you more to think about! But I did feel the story was some what confusing & a tad bit hard to understand! But overall, this sequel was insane & epic as hell! Go watch it! 10/10

If this movie has this poor score is because was badly produced. The dark web has a lot of interesting things and lots of information you can take advantage of but that score reflects the poor reaserch.

'UNFRIENDED: DARK WEB': Four and a Half Stars (Out of Five)A stand-alone sequel to the 2014 hit found footage horror flick 'UNFRIENDED'. This one tells the story of a teenager who steals a laptop only to discover that the original owner is watching him and his friends, and he'll do anything to get it back (including kill them). The film was written and directed by horror screenwriter turned first time feature filmmaker Stephen Susco. It stars Colin Woodell, Stephanie Nogueras, Rebecca Rittenhouse, Betty Gabriel, Andrew Lees, Connor Del Rio and Savira Windyani. The movie has gotten primarily positive reviews from critics, but it kind of bombed at the Box Office it's first weekend. I really enjoyed it, much like I did it's predecessor. Matias O'Brien (Woodell) is working on an app to help him better communicate with his def girlfriend, Amaya (Nogueras). She's not impressed by it though, and she's instead upset with him about it. While trying to reconcile things with her, Matias receives a Skype call from his other friends wanting to do game night. Matias engages with them, while still trying to makeup with his girlfriend, and he's also receiving hostile messages from the original owner of the laptop he's using, which he stole. He later finds out that the guy he stole from is watching him and his friends, and they're all in grave danger over it. The movie is intense and extremely creepy and disturbing, almost for it's entirety. I've been getting bored with so many slow-paced movies lately, and I sometimes even have trouble paying attention to them, but not this one. I was totally involved with it, from start to finish. Which is kind of the way I felt about the original film as well, and all really good horror movies in general. This is definitely one of those 'really good horror movies'. I highly recommend it.

While it holds the same sort of premise as the first with the whole computer screen view it is not like the first movie. The first one kind of sucked with all the super natural stuff going on in it. This one was more grounded in realism which helps it a lot and distinguishes it from the first one. Don't expect a magical experience that you'll walk away from thinking you have to see this again but you can expect to go away from it with a thought that this movie was not that bad at all. Kind of interesting and it might be worth watching a second time just to try to catch any minor small details you might have missed watching it the first time. Ir sort of creates that affirmation that the dark web is rather dark and not something to tread lightly in.So if you're looking for a movie that's not exactly horror but more thriller with some dark overtones and can spare about an hour and a half then this is the one to catch.
